Great customer service
The first PetnessGo Automatic Feeder stopped working after about four months. The timer clicked but didn’t move on either side. I contacted the seller and they sent me a new one which has been working for over a year now. Also, I didn’t have to change the battery for several months. I am really happy now with this feeder and am ordering a second one for when we go on vacation.

Stopped working after less than 6 months
Worked great in the beginning. I liked how the lids closed into the dishes, making it harder for them to be pulled open. But now it suddenly doesn't work. We changed the batteries, I tried playing around with the timers. I can hear the ticking as if it's working but this thing is so out of whack, it either opens way way late or doesn't open at all.Less than 6 months later and it's trash.

Genius Idea!
I bought this to put out wet food for my indoor cat when I went away for a weekend. He cannot be left with food in advance or he eats it in one sitting. (oh, tubby) This is such a simple, yet effective, solution. I set one timer for 24 hours and one for 48 hours right after I feed him on the day prior to leaving. That way, he'll be fed at the same time over the next 2 days. You cannot set a "time" per se, just dial in a number of hours anywhere from 2 hours to 48 hours and the timer begins. I tried it out with my guy a few days before I left just to ensure it worked and it didn't spook him. Worked like a charm. The ONLY disappointment is that the space underneath the removable food dish isn't big enough to put even the tiniest cold pack. It's even too shallow to put crushed ice, so I can't imagine what you're supposed to find that's small enough to fit. It's fine now because it's cool in the Northeast, but when warmer weather rolls around I'm going to have to figure out a better solution like putting water in the underneath tray and then replacing the feeding tray and then freezing the entire feeder! ANYWAY, besides that, it's a wonderful solution and a great value. If you are feeding dry food in this you won't even need to keep it cool, so buy it!

Saves catsitter fees (review updated 17 months later)
This product was actually recommended by our catsitter even though it was going to cost her business. I've got 2 of these and can now go away for a weekend without having to worry about my cat getting fed. She normally eats everything at once so I can't just leave a day or 2's worth of food out in a bowl if I want it to last more than 1 day. With this product, I can set a timer to have the lid open when it's time for her to eat. It paid for itself very quickly. Highly recommend.12/25/23: I set the feeder to open after going out of town for 2 days/1 night about 2 months ago. When I returned home I found that the feeders never opened. The next time I used it, it worked. But then when I continued testing it while I was at home, it only worked some of the times. I changed the battery but nothinhg improved. So after only using it about 10 times over a 15 month period I found that I can no longer count on it. It worked great while it worked but it's now too unreliable.

Works perfectly
I was looking for something so I could leave wet food for my cat if I needed to be away for a short time (he’s on a special diet and needs to be fed several times a day). This works great for that purpose. I bought the ice packs (separate listing) to go with this, and the set is perfect. Just make sure the ice packs are flat when you freeze them or they don’t fit correctly. I also semi-froze the second meal to make sure it wouldn’t sit at room temp for too long. You can take the plastic food dishes out to freeze food in them (or wash them, obviously). One annoying thing is that there isn’t a way to close the lid without setting the timer, which is only a problem when you’re storing it. Taking the batteries out solves this problem though, and is probably a good idea anyway. The more annoying thing is that it is SUPER hard to get the batteries back out. I recommend putting a ribbon or string under them so you can pull them back out when you need to. Otherwise, for the price and functionality, this is a great item.

Works decent for the price
Bought this to give my dog a pill at a specific time when we aren't able to get home (work, traffic, etc.). It works decent but I noticed the time needs to be set for at least a few hours or it won't always open automatically. In other words, it needs more than just 1 or 2 clicks. The left side also stopped working consistently. The timer will turn but it never gets far enough to open.

Far too flawed to be functional
It stopped working after about 5 months but ultimately the biggest design flaw is that it is only functional with rechargeable batteries that you regularly swap out yourself. You can’t use regular batteries because theirs no way to measure battery health and you’re not gonna find out the battery died until you get home and see it didn’t open and your pet wasn’t fed. And it was a conscious thought when first seeing it wasn’t wall powered but figured being two very basic timers spinning it wouldn’t watch much from a Duracell but it drains batteries fast.Lesson here, if power outlet version isn’t an option make sure you also buy rechargeable battery set matching which ever kind you buy, but not this one cause it’s very poor quality and won’t last half a hear

Worth getting
Overall I like this feeder very much! I tried another one before it, however, the timers and doors opening failed often. I tested the timers on this for a few days and they've been very consistent and worked every time. What I found a bit difficult was actually seeing the arrow that points to the time you want. I decided if I kept it I would outline it with a fine black marker and that helped. My cat is used to small bowls so I took out the grey tray and just put his bowl inside the compartment. This is his first time having any kind of "contraption" around his food dish and it's taken a few weeks to acclimate, however, he's getting there.
