I would not. That is what rose food is for.

How often should this fertilizer be used on my hardy hibiscus? is it too late to start now, late july?they ve tight, tight buds but wont open. thanks.

I applied this fertilizer on my Hibiscus late July last year 2020. I thought I bought a hibiscus plant with small flowers, but after using this fertilizer... I was really surprised how big the blooms are and I had lots of them.

Yes, you could apply in October in Florida, as far as I know. I would hesitate if in North Florida, as the active growing season winds down by mid October, so you wouldn't want to encourage new growth that could be damaged by a cold front. Follow application rates as stated on the packaging.
