This helmet worked excellent right out of the box. I say that because I am new to welding, and took the helmet out of the box, and didn't even bother to look at any settings, and started welding and it still worked great. As I continued welding, I was thinking that it'd be great to be able to see a bit better. That's when I realized, that the adjustment knob was at the highest setting so I turned it down a bit and was able to see even better. On to the functionality of the helmet. My biggest question before buying it was how do I turn it on? I know it says "auto darkening" but was curious if there was a button or switch to flip, but you don't have to do anything, it really is automatic. It does a fantastic job of dulling out light as you can see in the video. I've already started adding some soft modifications to it like a headlamp to help with seeing where I am welding and adding a cheater lens as well. Overall, the price is excellent, the helmet offers excellent protection, easy to use, and works great. I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Really nice high quality at a fair price. Great features like adjustable recovery delay, off/on switch accessible from the outside of the helmet. Fast dimming, clear instructions in plain English, and clear vision in transparent mode. It stays on my head securely with great adjustability. It’s comfortable and light weight. I bought it for my son, but it’s so much better than the one I own, I’m going to replace mine with one of these.

I’ve been using this YesWelder hood for a few weeks now and overall, I’m really impressed. The optical clarity is excellent much better than my old hood. The viewing area is large, and the auto-darkening works consistently and quickly. It honestly makes welding feel smoother and less stressful. The headgear is surprisingly comfortable, even for longer sessions. It feels lightweight without feeling flimsy, and I appreciate that the adjustment knobs are easy to dial in. That said, I did knock off one star for the head strap – it tends to slip slightly if I move around a lot, especially when I’m in tighter positions. It’s not a dealbreaker by any means, just something I had to keep re-tightening a bit during the day. All in all, this hood offers great value and performance. If you’re doing DIY projects, hobby welding, or even semi-regular shop work, I’d definitely recommend it.

I picked up the YESWELDER Auto Darkening Welding Helmet and it’s been awesome for my needs. As a DIY welder who doesn’t weld every day, I still wanted the convenience of an auto-darkening lens without spending a fortune, and this helmet delivers. It reacts quickly, the visibility is great, and it’s comfortable to wear for longer projects. The viewing area is large enough to see what you’re doing clearly, and the controls are simple to adjust. I’ve used it on a few small fabrication and repair jobs, and it’s worked flawlessly every time. For someone who welds occasionally but still wants pro-level features, this helmet is a great value. Definitely worth it for any weekend welder or home fabricator.

This welding & grinding face shield is high quality, well made, easily adjusted for head fit comfort, and comes with extra battery and both lens protection plastic covers. It was packed well and arrived next day. I decided to reuse the heavy plastic bag it came in to keep it dust free while stored on my welding cart. I’m impressed with how well it works. It quickly darkens, and the recovery time for it to go clear again has plenty of adjustment. I’ve got mine set at the fast side, so I can quickly assess the weld I just made. Shade darkness is easily set with your left had, and the knob is on the outside. The viewing area is small compared to the full face or the new panoramic style, but more than adequate. The shade control also can lock the shade to clear for grinding. Very slick, although I probably won’t use it for grinding. I’ve already used it to TIG weld a project I was working on, and did some 308 SS stick welds with it on another project. I was able to go from stick to TIG with a simple twist of the external darkness knob. Before darkening to weld, viewing is clear and natural looking. You can’t beat this welding shield for the price, and it even allows me to use my respirator with plenty of room between it and the face shield. The only complaint I had was the button battery used to power the shade was dead when it arrived. When I hit the shade test button nothing happened. I figured I would have to send the helmet back, but when I took the cover off the battery I found it incorrectly installed. The battery had draining completely do to this mistake, but I already had a spare supplied with my purchase. A quick swap out (with correct insertion), and it worked perfectly;-).

Pretty cool, I am old school kind of guy first time with an auto darkening welding helmet. What cool new technology, works amazing. Took a couple of times to get used to it because you can see when you struck the arc you want to naturally turn your head. I know I’m special, did not take long and I’m adjusted and love the product.

Me gusta hacer proyectos ocasionalmente, me gustó el diseño, hubiera estado bien algún diseño bonito a color, no me refiero a una calavera y otra cosa así, algo de buen gusto, pero prefiero así a traer un águila o la bandera de algún pais; Se ve y se siente de buena calidad, trae varios ajustes, también te dice si la batería está baja, los mecanismos para la cabeza me gustaron bastante además de la función a color se ve súper, trae una batería de repuesto y unos protectores de recambio. Estoy muy contento con la compra!
