The installation is simple, just purchase the basic App ($0.99) and follow the directions. The basic app only provides the current reading of the 3 particle sizes, the AQI ,a 24 hour graph of the AQI and the minimum and maximum AQI values for the day. There are subscription services that present the data in different ways, but I have not tried them since the basic data is all that I need. I have not found and maintenance requirements I installed mine in the indoor mode which said my data would not be shared..

Q: Does this detect mold in the air as well?

It only detects the partials in the air. Mold exhausts as a particle in the air so it will show up as lower air quality
