The batteries that come with this flashlight have a built-in mini charging port (actually part of the battery). The cord is used to charge those batteries, and and can be connected to a power source via USB.

Q: How do you know when the battery is fully charged?

There’s a small light on the top of the battery that is red when charging & turns green when fully charged.

Q: Should the light on the battery change colors when fully charged? Mine has stayed red for 18 hrs. Starting to thing something is wrong w/ the battery

It should go green. Not sure of charging time but 18 hrs. is excessive.
