BALANCE
I've cooked for a living for over 12 years. So I know the value of a good knife, balanced and sharp knife. During one of my last moves I lost my set of Wusthof knives and have been using a 10 inch chief and 10 inch sandwich knife from Chicago Cuterly as my daily go to knives; not good. So this will be used quit often. For $40 the knife is simply amazing, the weight and balance are near perfect. It feels great in my hand! I've had the knife for less than 24 hours, so I have NO idea how the steel will hold up over time. I can only tell you that if I were holding this knife in a retail store I would expect it to cost about $100-$120.

Art fart
I received my knife today. Pretty good looking knife, and heavy too: no flimsy crap. I sadly am not using it for cooking, but for an art project instead. I felt I needed to use it for its actual purpose first, so I cut some banana bread and a bagel: it cut fantastically. As well this knife is durable: I had to wear down the edge so no idiots would cut themselves with my project, and let me tell you it took foreeeevveerrrr for me to wear the edge down so no one would get cut. I am thinking about ordering one again in the future for actually cooking rather than for a project.

Decent bones - needs complete resharpening..
Put a lot of sharpening work into it, and you can get a good performing knife. First, its pretty thick at the edge. And the tip..little distal taper. The knife needs a good thinning. The grind is very assymetric.. the left side bevel appears to be about 16 degrees. But the right bevel is really, really obtuse. Maybe 30 degrees or more. Its a fair amount of work to get it down to 15 - lots of metal to remove because of the overall edge thickness.. Steel seems what it should be - probably HRC 56 or 57. Should have better edge retention than many of the 420J2 $10 knives...

Overall a very good deal!
I'm very impressed so far with this knife. It is quite sharp and looks to be well made. I can't speak to its durability yet as I have only had it a week. Overall a very good deal!

Very poor quality. I cut my fingers on the 3rd-4th ...
Warning: Please don't buy this product. Very poor quality. I cut my fingers on the 3rd-4th use as the knife blade came away from the handle.

Beautiful knife but doesn't cut
Was vey excited for this knife, but it's very dull. I can't cut anything with it because it takes a long time. It's beautifully made, just doesn't work for my everyday cutting of meals.

Very affordable knife that does the job!
I'm no chef, but I kept reading that knives make all the difference so I looked expecting to pay $50 or more to even get started, but the reviews on this made me give it a shot. I honestly don't know what to expect from a good knife. Maybe I'm settling and don't know it. What I do know is that this thing cut through my strip steak tonight like nothing, letting me cut nice thin slices. I don't really have more to offer right now since it just arrived today but the seller was already asking for a review....

this is a great knife. It came sharpened
For the price (about $5 is what I paid), this is a great knife. It came sharpened, and works well with the sharpeners I have too. There's a good weight to it, although it could be a little heavier on the blade end. The packaging is very impressive as well (if that matters to you).Overall, I did not expect to get a good knife for $5, but not only is this usable, it's one of the better knives I have in my kitchen.
