I followed the instructions to a tee including using a thermometer to keep the product at 140°, even during application, which was quite s bit of work. It was a mess to put on and hardened quickly. I left it on for an hour, which was the most amount of time recommended. I kept it in the provided cap and kept a hot towel on my head, which I kept reheating for that hour. I rinsed the product per the instructions, my hair was so hard. I didn’t think I would get the product out. After all this work, I can tell you that the next day, my hair looks exactly the same as it had the day before. The product did literally nothing for both my roots, my grays, or my previously chemical treated hair. No part of my hair changed color even in the slightest!

Great color coverage for grey hair It is not so easy to use

My favorite hair color. Not only it gives a natural color to my hair but also it's like a treatement for it. The hair is soft, hydrated and shiny after using it.

I bought this henna for my mother, she has 90% gray hair and this dye gave her a beautiful blond color.

Horrible. I had my salon expert apply dye. Just as they say on directions. Turned my hair green. Felt like mud. When box said silky. I would give it F.

After much research, I blended Sunrise Blonde & Medium Blonde together ( I could have gone lighter). I had some stray grays and few gray patches I wanted ot make blend into my dark blonde hair. I don't dye my hair as I hate upkeep but I thought I'd give this natural one a go. I am a vegan so it seemed fitting. All the horror stories I read about this stuff had me scared. At first my hair felt to dark. The smell lasted for weeks. I thought I'd be stuck with the color and have to touch up my roots but it honestly faded gradually away and was not as permanent as everyone made it seem. I don't use product in my hair like ever. I use natural/vegan shampoo and conditioner on my hair. I don't know but I do love how this worked on my hair and plan on redoing my hair this evening the the remainder (remember, i bought 2 colors I blended so I have a box left basically).

This does not work on white hair. I left it on for 70mns and it did nothing. nothing at all. A waste of time and money.

Très contente de ne plus utiliser des produits toxiques pour faire mes colorations! Mes cheveux mi-longs colorés (teinte: blond clair doré) avec des racines blond foncé, grises et blanches ont été parfaitements couverts, sans que cela vire au vert, comme indiqué dans certains avis. Voilà comment j'ai procédé: Première coloration il y a 3 semaines : je commence avec le masque purifiant Khadi que je laisse poser pour enlever tous les résidus chimiques (silicones etc). Après avoir rincé les cheveux à l'eau claire, je les lave avec un shampoing naturel bio. Je prépare une première coloration "Golden Hint" de Khadi dans un bol à la température indiquée, je pose ensuite mon bol dans un récipient plus grand avec de l'eau très chaude. J'applique la couleur sur mes cheveux humides, d'abord au pinceau en procédant mèche par mèche pour bien couvrir les racines, ensuite j'étale le reste de la pâte sur toute la chevelure par dessus la baignoire. (Pas besoin de mettre des gants, la couleur s'enlève bien des mains et n'est pas irritante!) Je couvre ma tête d'une charlotte (incluse dans le carton) et d'une serviette en turban pour garder tout cela au chaud, j'attends une heure pour rincer les cheveux à l'eau claire. Attention: les cheveux paraissent ensuite rèches et difficiles à peigner: c'est normal maintenant qu'ils sont débarassés de tous les produits chimiques qui les étouffaient). Je recommence alors toute la procédure en préparant ma deuxième pâte de coloration, cette fois-ci avec la nuance "blond moyen" de Khadi: mélanger dans un bol avec de l'eau à 50 degrés, placer le bol dans un bain-marie, appliquer d'abord au pinceau, ensuite "à pleines mains"... J'attends 90 minutes pour rincer à l'eau claire, cette fois-ci sous la douche pour être sûre d'enlever tous les résidus de la pâte et pour ne pas tout salir de nouveau (mais pas de shampoing!). Bonne surprise: Mes racines grises / blanches ont disparu, elles sont d'un joli blond, le reste des cheveux est blond miel / doré avec quelques petits reflets roux-orangés très jolis. Pour ne pas trop tirer sur les cheveux que j'ai du mal à démêler, j'attends qu'ils soient secs pour les peigner. La couleur se développe et s'éclaircit un peu au cours des 48 heures que j'attends avant de procéder à un premier shampoing (naturel bien sûr, il faut rester cohérente à partir du moment où l'on choisit une coloration naturelle!) Important: La nuit avant de faire le shampoing, je masse mes cheveux avec de l'huile pure d'Argan pour bien fixer la couleur (et depuis, je le fais avant chaque shampoing). Maintenant que 3 semaines se sont passées et que les premières racines réapparaissent, je viens de refaire une coloration Khadi "blond moyen" sans passer par la phase préalable "golden hint" . J'ai appliqué la pâte sur les racines comme sur les longueurs, j'ai attendu 90 minutes au chaud sous mon turban et suis ravie du résultat! Ce qui est vraiment un plus, c'est le fait que les cheveux ne sont pas seulement colorés joliment, mais qu'ils sont en même temps soignés et fortifiés: grandement appréciable après des années de colorations chimiques. Merci Khadi!

I have used several brands of powdered blonde henna and this is the best I have used so far. Really gentle and nourishing for hair. It says that the henna will not lighten hair, but I have prepared it as per instructions and mixed with equal amount of honey and it did gently lighten my hair and brought out the reflexes. I will definitely be buying again. Very pleased. An update to review. On second application I have kept henna on for about 3 hours, also, because I have been so pleased with results following the first application, I rushed and did it again after 3 weeks. My hair became weakened, flat and brittle. Lesson learned. This henna is fantastic but it should still be treated as colouring treatment. Therefore, stick to the times and don't keep it on for too long. I have short,fine hair and I find that 45 minutes is optimal for me. Also, give your hair some rest between the treatments. My hairdresser explained that this is because henna covers the strand of hair with a protective layer. But if done too frequently, the layer becomes too thick for the good stuff to get inside the hair. I have given my hair some rest, conditioned it and applied again, after 6 weeks this time, for 45 minutes only and as usual mixed half and half with honey. The result is beautiful. My hair is soft but voluminous, it's got beautiful honey shade of blonde and it feels really good. So my advice is, go with the flow, listen to your hair, observe what it likes and give this treatment a chance, if you have fine hair it can become your lifeline. Lots of love xxx

For me this is a perfect solution: good price and quality combination. The price is really good on Amzon.com. The color effect: The “Medium blond” color is really nice, a bit golden, and has no red shade, if to follow instructions really strictly - for time, temperature (not more 60 C), and to hold your head warm during all time (I put aluminium folium on top of the cap) and then a big towel to keep my head warm throughout the duration of the whole 1 hour. Also I put 1-1,5 tea spoons of salt into the herbal mix. Re effect on grey hair: Of course it took me about 2 times to cover some grey strands I already have. 1 time is not enough. Second time I used only 1/2 of package only for the roots. Re effect on health of hair: my hair became visibly much healthier even after 2 times of usage. They became full and glossy. I even started growing some new hairs in places where hair were already getting thinner after 3 months of usage and that is just superb result for me. The smell: the smell is herbal, quite strong and stays strong even after 2 times of washing, but for me it only shows, how natural this product is. Also, keep in mind that if you want the color to last, don't wash your with any products for 48 hours, cause the color will be still getting effect during this time. And there could be slight changes in the shade - it getting stronger or a bit darker.

Ich färbe schon seit eineinhalb Jahren mit Khadi Naturhaarfarben - bislang nahm ich jedoch immer die roten Töne - zuletzt nur noch Henna, Amla & Jatropa pur - und war sehr zufrieden mit meinem herrlichen Burgunderrot, auf das ich auch häufiger angesprochen wurde. Jedoch gefiel meinem Mann diese rote Farbe mit der Zeit immer weniger und ich wollte nun auch mal wieder wechseln. Meine Naturhaarfarbe ist dunkelblond, welches leider im Laufe der Jahre sehr aschig und dunkel geworden war - dazu auch noch mit sehr grauen Schläfen, was einen natürlichen Bondton bislang wohl kaum ermöglichte. Und da Khadi meinen Haaren sehr gut tut, möchte ich auch nie wieder zu herkömmlichen Produkten mit Chemie zurück wechseln. Nun habe ich mich dazu entschlossen, Khadi Mittelblond einfach mal auszuprobieren: Da ich ja bereits häufig mit Henna, Amla & Jatropa gefärbt habe und keine Angst vor unerwünschten Effekten hatte, weil man ja schon am nächsten Tag unerwünschte Ergebnisse wieder überfärben kann, ohne sein Haar damit zu schädigen, entschloss ich mich, einfach einen Versuch - ohne Probe - zu starten. Hierzu habe ich wie gewohnt Mittelblond wegen der besseren Haltbarkeit und Intensität mit starkem schwarzen Tee und Salz angerührt und wie gewohnt, das Ganze dann gute 2,5 Stunden eingepackt und Schutzhaube und Handtuch, einwirken lassen. Natürlich war mir auch bewusst, dass ich mit Mittelblond meine roten Haare natürlich nicht aufhellen kann, sondern vermutlich das Ergebnis nur am ca. einen Zentimeter herausgewachsenen Ansatz beurteilen kann. Als ich die Farbe ausgewaschen hatte, bemerkte ich jedoch kaum einen Effekt - nur, dass mein silberweiß leuchtender Ansatz nun nicht mehr silberweiß leuchtete sondern gaaaanz leicht und blass golden aussah, was aber dem Ansatz an den Schläfen doch schon deutlich den unschönen herausgewachsenen Effekt nahm. Auf dem Oberkopf im Scheitelbereich konnte ich einen minimalen goldigen Schimmer im Licht erkennen - und in den roten Längen ist der Farbton ein wenig kühler geworden, was ich auch sehr schön fand. So habe ich mich entschlossen, es noch einmal mit Mittelblond zu versuchen - nun aber bereits mit dem Ehrgeiz, mein Haar wieder komplett dunkel- evtl. sogar honigblond zu zaubern, denn dieses Farbe gefällt sowohl meinem Mann sehr gut, als auch mir selbst. Weil ich keinesfalls zum Frisör möchte, um dort mein Haar chemisch komplett aufhellen zu lassen, habe ich im Internet recherchiert, wie man möglichst schonend sein Haar aufhellen kann und habe nun auch bereits damit begonnen. Diese Methoden mit Honig, römischer Kamille, zur schnelleren Aufhellung aber auch dem Einsatz von EIN WENIG Wasserstoffperoxid sowie auch Backpulver habe ich nun bereits einmal angewandt und binnen einer Woche auch meine gut 60 cm langen burgunderroten Haare um ca. 2 - 3 Farbtöne - und das ohne sie in irgendeiner Weise zu schädigen - aufgehellt. Und trotz der Aufhellung sind sie wunderbar glänzend und perfekt gepflegt. So werde ich es also weiter machen. Zudem habe ich nun für die zweite Färbung mit Mittelblond ca. 9 Tage nach dem ersten Färben mit dieser Farbe ebenso die Farbe Hellbraun von Khadi besorgt und habe - weil ich nun zunächst nur noch den Ansatz färben möchte, beide Haarfarben vermischt - und zwar habe ich 30 Gramm Mittelblond mit 20 Gramm Hellbraun vermengt. Dieses habe ich aber nun mit einem Aufguss von römischer Kamille anstatt Schwarzem Tee und zwei Teelöffeln Salz zu einer breiigen Masse vermengt und auf den Ansatz aufgetragen. Das Ganze habe ich gut verpackt dann eine Stunde ziehen lassen. Als ich jedoch die Haube nach einer Stunde abnahm, bin ich erstmal erschrocken, denn die ganze Packung sah mehr oder weniger leuchtend grün aus und ich habe kurz überlegt, ob ich wirklich auswaschen oder lieber noch eine Stunde weiter einwirken lassen sollte. Doch ich entschloss mich, mir das Ganze mal anzuschauen und wusch alles gut aus. Nach dem Trocknen war ich entzückt: ein herrlicher goldblonder Farbton ziert nun meine grauen Haare an den Schläfen - und am Ansatz, wo meine Haare bislang aschig dunkelblond nachgewachsen waren, leuchten sie nun wunderschön honiggoldblond! Diese Farbe ist wunderschön und ich möchte nun doch versuchen, mein Haar komplett so hin zu bekommen. Dazu werde ich die dunklen Längen natürlich noch Wochen und Monate vorsichtig bleichen. Doch Woche für Woche dürfte ich so meinem Traum näher kommen. Wir werden sehen... Nach einigen weiteren Monaten möchte ich noch eine Ergänzung hinzufügen: Mittlerweile verwende ich zum Nachfärben meines Ansatzes nur noch die Farbe Mittelblond - ohne Beimischung von Hellbraun, was ich nun seit ca. 3 Monaten so anwende. Am Ansatz habe ich nun schon ca. 3 - 4 cm eines wunderschönen gold-/mittelblonden Farbtones. Allerdings rühe ich meine Farbe anstatt mit schwarzem Tee mit einem starken Tee aus Römischer bzw. Ägyptischer Kamille (Letztere ist günstiger aber genauso wirksam wie die oft erwähnte Römische Kamille). Das hellt die Farbe bzw. die Haare um Mini-Nuancen auf und gibt einen wunderschönen goldenen Farbglanz. Ich lasse die so gemischte Farbe immer 2 Stunden einwirken und es hält wunderbar. Nun ist auch ein guter Unterschied zum vorher mit einer Mischung aus Hellbraun und Mittelblond (30:70) zu erkennen. Die zuvor mit Hellbraun/Mittelblond-Mischung gefärbten Haare sind noch leicht rotstichig. Im Gegensatz hierzu die ausschließlich mit Mittelblond gefärbten Haare unter Zugabe von starkem Kamillentee anstelle schwarzem Tee sind ganz ohne rötlichen Stich - einfach herrlich Mittelblond mit Goldstich. Ich habe von Natur aus Mittel-/Dunkelblondes Haar und muss sagen, dass die Haarfarbe nicht aufhellt durch Mittelblond - nur einen tollen Goldschimmer bekommt. Jedoch die grauen Haare sind nun wunderschön Goldblond und sehen ganz super wie goldene Strähen damit aus. Ich kann einen Versuch damit nur empfehlen.
