but it was fun, interesting
Summary: A family trip takes a deadly turn when Miranda's car is deliberately run off the road. Her young daughter is shaken, her husband badly hurt, and there's no help in sight. Miranda must move forward, climbing a mountainside in search of help. Her husband's parting words: "Be careful who you trust." What exactly has he gotten them into??? Dodging killers and running on fumes, can the family make it out alive? My thoughts: Holy heck, what a ride! Buckle up and make sure to allow for a lot of suspension of disbelief. While there is a lot going on that, let's face it, would never really happen... isn't it that way with most action/ thrillers? This one may be a bit over the top, but it was fun, interesting, and, as promised, a lightning-fast read. The story was really perfect for a bookshot. I enjoyed the main characters, Miranda, Aaron and little Sierra. I liked the dynamic between the three. The premise caught my attention right away, and I was really interested. It quickly became a favorite of mine. Five Stars! On the adult content scale, I give it a four. There is some language and violence, but I have honestly read worse in a YA novel that I still handed to my 13 year old niece.

some funny, some rude
COME AND GET US, a James Patterson Bookshot written by Shan Serafin. This is one book the reader won’t have a problem keeping track of the characters—there are very few. The venue is northern Arizona’s high country in Navajo land. The story is a high speed narrative that maintains its velocity to the end. Miranda, the star of the story, is a supercharged wife of a lawyer who works for an oil company, and mother to four-year-old, Sierra, who is brave beyond her age. The story starts off with a car chase, an accident, an odyssey to seek help interrupted by vicious attacks from strange men. Miranda’s dialogue is witty, full of clever quips, some funny, some rude, others sad. The story highlights what a wife and mother will do to protect those she loves, although her actions are often a bit over the top. I enjoyed the short lunchtime story and give it a 4-star rating.

Ok story... But the author needs to improve her knowledge about the oil industry
Story was fast paced and for the most part a fun read. However there was so much basic oil terminology the author got wrong it showed that they hadn't done their homework. What was described as a Derrick was clearly a pump jack and there is no such thing as a fracking plant.

Exciting action and thrilling story
I read this story in one setting as it was riveting. This is the best BookShot that I ha d read thus far. In fact, I can imagine this as a kick butt movie.

Come and get us.
Quick and easy reading. Sitting in a car repair shop waiting over two hours for my husband's car to be repaired was a sort of pleasant experience .only because I had this nook to read.

SO YOU THOUGHT YOU HAD US
AHHA here we go again"GREED GREED the"ALMIGHTY DOLLAR." It doesn't matter how they get it or who they have to pay, as long as they reach their goal. This is part of the what we people go through. All anyone wants is to be able to feed their families keep a roof over their heads. This story is still happening all over the world, no respect for people or the land that we all live on. Big businesses who only care what's in it for them, screw the people whose water is tainted with the residuals of producing oil.A great story as are all of James Patterson's books. A reminder look at certain areas of West Virginia and Kentucky..we see it on the news..This isn't "FAKE NEWS."

Boring
I started buying these Bookshot books because they are a short, quick read but very engaging and interesting. I like to read short, quick books like this as a break between longer, more involved books. This one was different from any that I've read so far because it was more like a Hallmark movie, and I personally find Hallmark movies boring and predictable. This one was full of so much 'drama' that it was just hard to keep reading because it was so unrealistic. Books are supposed to take you away to great places and situations, but this was really just like walking onto the set of a Hallmark movie. If you are easily bored you should skip this book. If, however, you love drama, this is your book.
