OvaltineOriginal Light Add Water 300G

I've been tired of trying "other" Ovaltines and never found the flavor I was used to from infancy. Until I found this. Definitely worth the price.

Back in the day, we all knew a different tasting Ovaltine that was widely distributed, but in the US market they changed the ingredients and although good, is not like the older version. Back in 1999's they sold both versions in the states, and the updated version was embraced out right. I still like the original and this is it.

The lid was on, the seal was broken. Can’t return, going in trash. In this day and age totally unacceptable. Will double think ordering food items.

I used to drink Ovaltine as a child and I loved it. Over the years I hadn't had it until I recently saw it on Amazon. So I ordered it. I couldn't wait to drink a nice hot cup of Ovaltine. The taste this good but, the only thing is that malted flavor wasn't as potent as it seemed to have been when I was a child; that's the flavor I was looking for and it seemed to lack that just a tad. However, if you just want a nice hot drink you can still order it you won't be TOTALLY disappointed.

I have to say I don't clearly remember the flavor of the Pre-Nestle Ovaltine, but I do remember it changed and not for the better after the original old fashioned Chicago company sold its brand to Nestlé. I remember having the new and old can and comparing with disappointment. Post sale was basically Nesquick chocolate milk. The previous original had more body, less sweetness, and a more complex flavor.I don't think this English product tastes quite like what we used to have from the original USA Ovaltine company. I wish I could find the ingredients list on an early 2000s label to compare.Overall, good. Less sweet than Nestlé, but it leaves me wanting. I still want the original back. You know, the original that you could mail the proof of purchase to the old ladies in the office to get a coupon for 50¢ off your next jar. As if the stamp and envelope didn't cost almost the 50 cents you saved with the coupon. Old fashioned company with an old fashioned good product. It'd be great to have Ovaltine back. Maybe one day.

Original Ovaltine flavor. This batch is fresh with long sell-by date. You can't go wrong with original Ovaltine. Scarce locally but amazon to the rescue.
