After changing 3,4 router finally I got the best one because what I was expecting it’s more than my Expectation specially the WiFi antennas which are 6x6 strong & long range. Junk - don’t be fooled by the marketing. Has such idiocies as a QR code that is so small (less the 1cm squared) that it can’t be scanned. Won’t connect on WiFi or wired - going back to Amazon

Mi caso antes de comprar el router fue como creo mucho otros, usaban el modem/router que te da el proveedor de internet y el lag en juegos era muy fastidioso o cargar videos o streams tardaba su momento. Tras una investigacion, llegue a la conclusion que el router "stock" de la compañia de internet no daba para mas, decidi que era tiempo de comprar un router mejor. Tras leer varios reviews en internet, me decidi ir por este por lo que ofrecia y no creo haberme equivocado en la decision. Se necesita tener un conocimiento basico de redes para hacer el setup del router, pero no es nada que con una investigacion en google de 10/15 minutos no resuelva. La aplicacion del celular es sencilla y cuenta con muchas de las funciones que necesitas. El interfaz de la computadora es un poco mas complicado pero ofrece muchos ajustes, como la posibilidad de tener una red de invitados, tener QoS y restringir el acceso a otros dispositivos. Tambien tiene control parental pero ese no tuve la oportunidad de probar. El router tiene las dos bandas 2.4 y 5 GHz y junto con el MUMIMO dan una experiencia de internet muy buena. Los streams cargan casi instantaneamente y los juegos rara vez se lagean. Definitivamente una muy buena compra.

I bought this to replace my problematic Airport base station. I'd have to say by comparison that it's definitely not plug and play, but now that I've got it set up it's working fine and somewhat faster than the Airport. One definite suggestion for Netgear, would be to lose the app assistant and just provide a printed manual. The app was no help at all.

Una porquería de router antes netgear era una buena marca ahora solo es una marca más en el mercado tecnología vieja a sobreprecio y además con un software muy limitado para vpn y ddns si no son los servicios de netgear no te deja configurar otro servicio de vpn y ddns Ya con dos años con el router eh notado una disminución en la potencia del wifi y en la velocidad de transferencia dice dar 6700 mbps pero no llega ni a la mitad de eso es una ESTAFA NO COMPREN PRODUCTOS NETGEAR MUY CAROS CON TECNOLOGÍA VIEJA Y MUY LIMITADOS EN SOFTWARE me puse en contacto con netgear para hacer valida la garantia y netgear me bateo que amazon se tiene que hacer cargo de la garantia y amazon no quiere hacer valida la garantia REPITO NOCOMPREN PRODUCTOS NETGEAR Y SI PUEDEN NO COMPREN EN AMAZON NO SE HACEN RESPONSABLES

Es un buen router de categoría intermedia. Desempeña excelente todas sus funciones, buen alcance y buena velocidad (400mbps en promedio por Wifi). Doble banda 2.4 y 5 Ghz. Ademas soporta una buena cantidad de dispositivos conectactos vía inalambrica. Puede exprimir la velocidad de las conexiones de fibra (menores a 400mbps). Ademas ofrece la capacidad de instalar el firmware DDRT, este firmware ofrece capacidad de personalización extrema. (También es muy fácil regresar al Firmware de fabrica). El único punto en contra es que al configurar un cliente VPN por openvpn la máxima velocidad alcanzada es de 45mbps. Esto se debe a que el proceso de cifrado lo hace el procesador del router y no le alcanza para poder realizar el proceso mas rápido, degradando la velocidad. En mi caso con una velocidad de 200mbps solo podía obtener 45mbps. En resumen: Un excelente router para usuarios normales. Un buen router para usuarios avanzados. No lo recomiendo como un RouterVPN.

I couldn't be happier with Netgear X4S router. Before writing this review I've been using it (testing) daily to operate my Amazon Fire TV streaming 4-8 hours of HD a night via 5GHz WiFi, iPad Pro, iPhone 6+ and 6s, Dell XPS 15 9560 and XPS 15 M530, Ooma phone, Apple TV 4, Roku 3, and Belkin WiFi Switches. Oh, and a 2017 Ford Fusion car (it connects to the internet over WiFi probably so spies can hack into and crash my car one day). This router has been running non-stop for 2 months and has not missed a beat. Totally stable, very reliable. WiFi streaming is flawless, and speed tests to the internet have topped out at 136Mb/s over 5GHz AC WiFi verified on my 9.7 ipad pro and Dell XPS 15 9560. When I received it, I immediately updated the firmware, as there was a major security problem with the firmware it shipped with. This was easy, and uneventful. The new firmware appears to be bug free. I'm also using many of it's advanced features such as NAS using a flash drive. All my devices (including iOS) can see the router's network drive, and read and write fast without issues. I also use the VPN capability, and managed to get it working on my cell phone and iPad. This great for being able to see the content on your NAS drive, or talk to any computer or printer on your home network. You can even set it up to surf the internet from your home's internet connection from any location on the internet. Very useful for services like Playstation Vue when you're on the road and want to watch local channels. I even used it to get around corporate firewalls. A very nice feature that is also stable, and works as advertised. You do have to be fairly technical to make it work.. I can tell you from previous experience, getting a reliable router is very difficult, and many routers have bugs and stability issues. So far, no problems here. Netgear, you're engineers deserve a party and a raise. Keep up the good work.
