Good substitute for halogen bulbs. I put them in a chandelier, with a dimmer, and they work fine. The halogens were 50 watts and these are almost as bright, but only take 10 watts apiece, an 80% saving. They’re not quite as bright as halogens, but I never turned the halogens up full; they’re too bright. So they work fine. How long they last - who knows?

The product description is wrong to states that they are dimmable - they are non-dimmable. I had to return them

These are much brighter than the 40 watt bulbs that came with my fan's light kit and even work with light kits that have wattage limiters.

Installed 10 of these on my light fixture and brightness noticeably differs from bulb to bulb. It works but quality is low and brightness isn't consistent. If uniformity in brightness is important in your application, look for something of higher build quality.

Bulb on the left was just received and installed. Ad lists as a 10 W bulb, but if you read further down the page it says 8 watt. Bulb on the right was bought two years ago and appears much brighter. I believe that is a 10 W bulb. They both dim well with old rotary dimmer. I did not get a set of 4 10 watt bulbs. This is a misleading listing.

Did not last 4 months...

I needed more light in two areas in my home. The light fixtures I needed to address limited the wattage I could use due to the heat produced by regular bulbs. These were my saving grace. I was able to provide a brightness equal to 100 watts without in creasing the heat. Save me from replacing the light fixtures which saved me money and work.
