Q: What size downrod should I order for a 10 foot ceiling?

Lowes and Home Depot have a chart and the general guideline for max efficiency would be 18". However you can use a shorter down rod it is preference. Recently I just installed 12" down rods on my 10' ceilings as I didn't want the fans to be low. Hope this helps.

Q: can the downrod be cut to a shorter length?

You can do whatever you want with it. I would not recommend cutting it since there is an interface on each side of it. One side holds the ball that goes on the coupler in the ceiling and the other side fastens to the fan.

Q: Will this fit a Honeywell fan?

I believe they’re universal but not positive.
