Short Battery Life
This is a great clock with an unusual three battery feature. I expected extra long life but I have had the clock 28 months and the batteries will no longer power the clock's second hand. The hour and minute hands were pointing to the correct time. I replaced the batteries one at a time to keep whatever power the dying batteries had available until all three were replaced. The clock immediately advanced the second hand to the correct time. Very smart in my opinion. The question is why did the batteries last only a little over two years. Amazon says they should last five years. These are Rayovac Fusion top-shelf batteries and they were fresh when put in the clock. They are good till 12-2033 (this is 10-24). The batteries removed measure 1.38 volts so in many applications they are depleted. Perhaps different batteries would be better, lithium for instance.I will buy some Energizer Ultimate Lithium which are claimed to be good for 7X any alkaline battery and these should will probably outlast me.Despite the battery performance this is a clock that looks good and is easy to setup. It also has excellent radio performance despite the fact that the clock is pointed north-south and Colorado is west of me. My previous radio clock had to be moved to a different wall to get the clock back on time when batter was changed. And three batteries is a sure way to keep it running while changing batteries.

SUPER CLOCK!
I bought this clock (after looking at hundreds on Amazon) tp replace an 'electric' clock above our kitchen sink. The clock is as old as our home, 70, and I love it. It is mid-century and so am I. The clock I bought lived up to all its features, except one. When it finished doing its dance to Central Standard Time, it stopped one hour short. An easy fix on our part. We just manually moved the time up one hour. It is very handsome to look at, easy peasy to read, keeps great time, and totally silent. The BIG test will come this weekend when we switch to daylight savings time. Will Atomic Clock "Spring Ahead" one hour? Remains to be seen. Even if the clock did not work atomically, I think it is a super time piece at a 'dynamite' price!

Works great. Time is perfect.
I bought one of these clocks, then because I liked it so much, I bought another. I dropped in a battery, and the clock did this kind of disturbing thing where it went around almost 24 hours (OK, it was 11:30 PM) before settling on the right time. Once arriving at the correct time, the second hand started moving. The second clock did not catch the WWVB signal, so it stopped at 12 straight up. When I checked again in the morning, it had synced itself. Both clocks are against east facing exterior cinder block walls, so I'm pleased with the WWVB reception -- I had actually expected to have to move them to another wall which more directly faced Fort Collins, CO.Unlike all of the other quartz clocks I have in the house, these clocks are silent with no disturbing tick noises. The clock face is easy to read from quite a distance. The single little niggle I have is that I'd like to see some sort of indicator that the clock has synced in the last 24 hours. For a $17 clock, this is a great value.

Never have to set time. Attractive, well-made and looks exactly like the picture.
The biggest reason that I purchase atomic clock is that I never have to set time. It also adjusts automatically for Daylight Saving Time. Even though the clock is synchronized to the atomic clock in Colorado, it's not accurate to the second. Expect it to be off by about 1/2 a minute or so. That comes with being an analog clock with hands. I am guessing, if you buy a digital atomic clock, it could be accurate to the second. But who needs that kind of accuracy? Out of the box, I just hung it up where I wanted it in the livingroom, and by the next morning, it was set to the correct time. There is a way to manually set the clock, which is easy, but I didn't bother with it. I have bought atomic clocks from other manufacturer, but for some reason, they weren't as good as Lacrosse at keeping time or moving one hour this way or that way during Daylight Saving Time switch over. My other Lacrosse atomic clock gained or lost one hour right on the day of switch over. Other atomic clocks had taken more than a day to adjust. The clock is very basic, easy to read and well-constructed. It looks exactly like the picture.

Nice clock but ,,,,
Great looking clock that works well with my office decor. I like the extra 2 AA battery bays, in addition to the main bay, for extended operating life. I live near the east coast and the clock consistently receives nightly signal from WWVB in Bolder, CO, giving the clock perfect accuracyI wanted to give it 5 stars but the second hand does not line up with the printed second hash marks on the clock face. The second hand actually sits in between the second marks on the face and the minute hand is slightly off as well, despite numerous resets. Not a big deal, especially if your looking at the clock from a distance, but I wouldn't expect this from a reputable atomic clock manufacturer. I've had other Lacrosse clocks for years and they are spot-on accurate and aligned, so this may just be an alignment fluke with this particular unit.Other than that, this is a great clock, looks good, is quiet and can easily be read from across the room.

Reliable time, great clock
Great clock.. reliable automatic time setting including option for DST. If you use good batteries the batteries will last for years.

Atomic Clocks are worth every penny
Having the correct time without having to worry about replacing a battery for at least five years is marvelous. I've had an atomic alarm clock for a decade at least. Our local library, has classes in a meeting room where instructors relied on the wall clock to stay on schedule, and one day the one in the room was off, and the Movements instructor had to keep checking her watch. I bought the library this one, very similar to their old one. Clocks are something that you shouldn't have to think about, and just do their job with precision. (And La Crosse has many colors and styles.)
