The box says not to use the lid for hot liquids, is this true? I thought it was for both cold and hot?

I have followed the instructions on the box to not use hot liquids with this lid. I don't know what will happen if you do use hot liquids with this cup. I just use it for cold liquids. If using this cup for both, my suggestion is to rethink purchasing this cup & use one more versatile

Why does it say for hot or cold and when I got it the box says lid can't be used with hot beverages?

I purchased this for my wife as a gag gift last year and she would use it every morning and have hot coffee in it and she never complained or had any issues when using it for that purpose.
