If you need to tap into your fuse panel and you have mini ATM fuses, this is a must! Very simple to use:-find the power source you want to tap into ( you can do this with a test light or volt meter)-DISCONNECT the battery terminals-pull out the fuse you selected from the fuse panel-install the fuse you just removed from the fuse panel into the lower slot (closest slot to the 2 metal tabs)-now install another fuse in the top slot (select the appropriate amperage fuse for the project you are working on)-crimp your wire into the included premounted wire connector (or, cut off connector and solder wires together)-connect all the ground wires from your project to the vehicle securely-plug the completed fuse tap back into the open port you removed the original fuse from-reconnect the battery terminals-now finish your projectThe only reason I gave this fuse tap a 4 star, was I wish they made this fuse tap in 2 versions:-red wire exiting the side (like this one)-red wire exiting the top (sometimes it can be tricky running wires with the red wire exiting to one side)Overall, I do use and recommend this fuse tap!CPS

Exactly as advertised. It is a bit frustrating the packaging doesn't tell you which fuse slot is for the original and which is for the new wire you are adding with the adapter. The packaging tells you to insert the adapter one way, and if it doesn't work, just turn it around. Then it states insert a fuse and find out which part it is powering. Doesn't seem difficult to place the information on the product or the packaging, even just using a dot in the plastic with the note "Dot is original accessory" or something similar, but maybe that's just me. Also, it covers a fuse slot when not used on the very end of a column or row. I knew this going in to it, but I wanted to make sure others are aware, also.

I bought this to tap into my fuse box as i have about 9 open fuse slots. I used a voltage meter to find the ones that were only hot with key on and tapped the bussmann into that slot. It comes with a pre-crimped wire connector so connecting to a 12v source is easy. Remember this isn't for high voltage items like car stereos or amps, its only for low voltage stuff like a gps unit or radar detector that is 12v dc. I threw a 7.5 fuse on as it's rated up to 10 a.

This worked perfectly to allow me to add an extra fused circuit into my 2013 Golf so that I could hard-wire my radar detector.The adapter fits in the place of an existing mini (smaller) fuse within the fuse box and allows you to retain the original fuse while adding an extra one.The hardest part of the install was first determining which existing fuse slot was active only when the ignition is on, and also determining the correct orientation for this adapter as it only provides the positive feed when correctly positioned. I used a multi-meter to figure out the orientation, but you could be ok just using the device you're trying to power.

I needed to add a connection for my Sirius Satellite radio and this mini fuse converter was spot on. I couldn't find it locally so it's Amazon to the rescue again. I used this to add a 12v socket under the dashboard to integrate a GPS receiver in a 2007 Forester. I plugged it into the same circuit as the 12v socket in the center console. When I turn on the car ignition the GPS powers up and shuts off when I turn off the ignition. Real simple thanks to this device.
