If I could award 6 stars, I would
I'm a 50-year audiophile. I've still got my Koss Pro-4 AA headphones that were the best in their day and I've used a wide variety of head/earphones over the years. I never thought ANYTHING could sound as good as do my new SE846's. Their sound is stunning.I've evolved from the SE215, to the SE535, and now the SE846, and every jump has been an improvement. Based on some reviews, I didn't expect a jump from the 535 to the 846, but to me there is an audible difference. And I'm not sure how to describe it. I think it's best described as "crispness," and maybe that relates to rise time, but I don't know. The SE535 has excellent frequency response, so I don't think it's that. Maybe it's amazingly low THD, I dunno. And please forgive my "old guy" taste in music, but we like what we like, right?I was surprised at some of the music that sounds better, as much of my collection is simply from iTunes. But even with those selections the fidelity is improved. For example, on The Carpenters "Top of the World," the brief baritone segment is deeper, and you can at other points in the piece hear Karen's lips open before she starts a vocal burst. In Johnny Mathis's "I'm Coming Home," the accompaniment is so much richer. And the 1962 RCA recording of the Boston Pops "Pops Roundup" showed a remarkable difference.I struggle a little bit with the over-the-ear cords, but they are manageable. And the selection of ear pieces/cushions is terrific.I couldn't resist these pricey earphones when they were (for the first time I've ever seen) discounted for Black Friday. I am so glad I bought them! Thanks, Shure!

Sound..o
I use these things with a Fiio BTR7,( Wired sounds better than bluetooth)And it's buttery smooth And the closest thing i've ever experienced to a live performance. Imo using these things without a wired headphone DAC/headphone Amp is like having a Lamborghini with a 4 cylinder..Edited 12/8/2023The real kicker for these IEM's is the UNREAL amount of separation. You can literally pick out an instrument in your head and ONLY listen to that instrument. Few other Products can do this with such incredible clarity. Can't stress enough. Use a good WIRED DAC/headphone amp. Night and Day.

Expensive for Sound Quality
Although the sound quality is great, it’s not worth the price. The bass is good but not exceptional, and they lack resolution compared with newer offerings that are hundreds less. I owned these a couple of years ago and remember them sounding better than they are. I’ve owned a few other IEMs since then and they just don’t compete as well anymore. If you’ve never heard high-definition audio before, these might impress you.

Most amazing experience I've had with audio
This isn't my first go at big money IEM'S but it will be my last. I listen to a little of everything. Hip hop, rock and everything in between. The bass hits low and hard. The mids are the best ever. They just do everything well. If you love music then these are for you. Pleasantly surprised how comfortable they are also.. Nice work Sure
