Mega Man Anniversary Collection - PlayStation 2

Excellent condition. Minimal scratches on disk. Used but grey value for money. Happy adding this Megaman to my collection.

The PlayStation 2 is well-known for having some of the best collections on it and this one is definitely one of the best. The Mega Man Anniversary Collection comes with Mega Man, Mega Man 2, Mega Man 3, Mega Man 4, Mega Man 5, Mega Man 6, Mega Man 7, Mega Man 8, Mega Man: The Power Battles, and Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters. All of which are presented with their original graphics as well as new options which you can turn on or off such as added difficulty settings, an option to use the original 8-bit soundtrack or a remixed CD quality soundtrack (which was previously used in the Japan-exclusive "Rockman: Complete Works" and sound really nice, a weapon switch button which was later used in Mega Man 9 & 10, and a save feature! No longer do you need to write down passwords as the game will save your current game progress to your memory card after you complete a stage. This version also removes all lag from the games, especially noticeable in Mega Man 3 which is infamous for lagging on the NES. The games overall feel much smoother now and refined, even though nothing about them as changed. I do have to warn you though on the GameCube version the jump and shoot buttons are reversed - meaning that A shoots and B jumps. It's not a deal breaker however if you can get this on the PS2 or Xbox I'd suggest it. The reason I would suggest getting this version over the upcoming Mega Man Legacy Collection on PS4, Xbox One, Steam, and Nintendo 3DS is because that version is more expensive and comes with less features than this one even though this one is a decade older. OVERALL: I think this is one of the best collections on the market. It has so much content and anyone who is looking to get into Mega Man or relive their childhood should pick up this version because it is truly the definitive version.

Although I grew up playing the NES, I've never played any of the Mega Man games released for it (I played Mega Man X of the Super NES albeit for only a quick moment). Some years back, I came across this collection at a GameStop with the case & manual intact & didn't buy it due to lack of funds-& regret not getting it at the time after later finding out they sold it. Now, I finally have this in my hands. You'll be getting 10 Mega Man games- although I got it mainly to play the 6 NES games. Mega Man 7, which was originally released for the Super NES is a decent game too, but Mega Man 8 (based on the PSOne release) may have to grow on me. The 2 games that needs to be unlock (the Mega Man Power Battle & Power Fighters games) are OK. They're nice additions, but not essential. There are some differences between the games in this & their original releases. For one, when you finish a stage or lose all your lives, it automatically saves, getting rid of the need for passwords though they're still present in Mega Man 2-7 if you want to use them (the 1st & 8th Mega Man games didn't have passwords to begin with.) Plus you can set up the difficulty level (easy & normal) for all but Mega Man 8. Another interesting feature is Navi Mode which has in-game hints, remixed music & updated in-game menu. Flicker & slowdown is also greatly reduced for the 6 NES games-if you ever played the NES, you'll know what I'm talking about. As you play the 8 games in this collection, you can also unlock features. Besides the previously mentioned Mega Man Power games, you can also unlock artwork, some of the game music & the pilot episode of the Ruby-Spears Mega Man series. I was slightly disappointed that you couldn't unlock the soundtracks of the games in this collection. While playing them, I realize how great the music is. Although I can't really add anything else that's already been said by the previous reviewers, I will said this- contemporary gamers (those who only play current generation games) may get frustrated trying to play these games. But this collection is a dream come true for those of us who grew up playing the NES or 2-D plat formers.

Wanted to own this again after losing my copy many years ago. Very nostalgic and as fun as ever! I used to play Megaman on NES as a kid, and it's great to have them all in this updated format, plus some fun extra content. Was shocked to see this was a brand new copy still in shrink wrap!

I bought this game off of Amazon about a month ago and I'm still trying to beat it. I mainly bought it to play Mega Man 3, which I played a lot as a kid. I paid about $12, which included shipping. Needless to say, I've had AT LEAST $12 worth of fun with it and still going. Not only am I reliving my childhood, but I'm getting to play all the ones I missed as well. I'm a huge fan of the Mega Man series and at the end of each game, I'm always thinking "why doesn't he just kill Wily? Surely he's proven that's the only way to stop him." Even after I beat all the games (I'm up to Mega Man 7 as I write this), I'll definitely go back and play them all again. For $12, this was well worth it for me.

The PS2 Mega Man collection is simply the best of all of the Blue Bomber collections published. It doesn't have the control issues from the Gamecube and it has more games than the more recent editions (and it also has a manual for you retro purists like me). If you're a gaming veteran who always plays retro games on retro TVs, using retro consoles, sitting on a retro couch, you can't go wrong with the PS2 edition. Add a ridiculously low price to the mix, and you'll have an awesome deal in your hands. Go buy it!!

i tried it on my ps2 and works and plays good.

Bettet than I expected, the game was still sealed. Completely new. The only problem is that this game was only released in NTSC and I can't play it on my PS2, which is PAL. SO BE CAREFUL!!! THIS PRODUCT IS USELESS IF YOU DON'T HAVE NTSC PLAYSTATION 2. I didn't know that and I basically wasted my cash. Seller should have mentioned that in the description, but I should have also done some more research before purchasing. Seller did good though. Like I've said- game was still sealed, and it arrived quite fast.
