Q: I have noticed all of the customer pics are not the same as what is shown. furthermore, maxxhaul doesn't even list this on their site anymore. ideas?

There are four models with reviews and therefore photos all aggregated on this listing. Two sizes, each folding and non folding type. That is why pics may look different depending on which model.

Q: So the 2” receiver hitch bolts separately to the basket. Are there u-bolts available to mount basket to a roof top rack ?

No, there is not anything specifically made for that. But I'm sure it can be modified to do that.

Q: Will it fit A Mitsubishi outlook Sport?

It will fit anything with a 2" receiver.

Q: Which waterproof cover would be a best fit?

The inside dimensions of the rack rails are roughly 20” x 47” so a cover that has those dimensions would fit in the “footprint” of the rack. But if you were using a fabric cover, then it could be a bit larger or smaller. I don’t think that would be a problem as you can still tie it down. If you were trying to put an aluminum box like I did, make sure it will fit within those dimensions.
