Bought this book to study for an upcoming exam. This book is a great value for the money and was great for studying.

Good writing, good content, a few items could go further in details but overall good.

I am giving this book a general good review because i did use it as part of my study materials for the exam, which I did pass. Though this book itself wont fully help you get prepared. I also read other study guides and the CSSLP CBK book.

This book is a useful distillation of the CSSLP material, but much of the information on software practices is very out of date. It is geared toward waterfall, on premise, projects. Most current projects are agile and cloud based, with CICD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code, or embedded Internet of Things. It's useful for distilling the CSSLP concepts, but it isn't a good measure of how software is being developed.

Prepare to be frustrated by the confusing organization of concepts, poor method of implementing literary and formatting structure, multiple typos and confusing real world examples which are only half explained. This is an overall awful book that needs years of iteration to improve, but is an ok first draft attempt. The web content for practice questions lacks mobile phone support. Practice questions in the book are confusing and lack important details. Yes this is a newish isc2 exam but this is not the book TO prepare you for exam. Save your money, don't buy

I got my order a day early, I was happy to buy brand new. The front of the book had sticky residue on the back and the back cover was folded in an irregular spot. Both of these things were not a deal breaker but it causes the rating to be lower because it looks like this book was in a book bag or poorly stored at some point in it’s shelf life before being sold.

This book does a good job explaining concepts, but it does not cover all of the topics that are covered in the actual exam. I just took the exam and I honestly had to double check that I was taking the correct exam. I know this particular book like the back of my hand, and it was not nearly enough. This is not considered an "all in one" guide.

CSSLP exam is weird and tricky. I studied this book first and failed. Then I studied official material and passed.
