I wanted a smaller/lighter tool
I looked at shears at local stores and they were all big, heavy and expensive. I wanted a smaller/lighter weight version and found it with these Genesis shears. They work just fine for cutting metal roofing. I use them anytime I am cutting metal/tin for craft projects too. You can cut straight lines and around curves. I used them to cut out metal blades for wind spinners and found that I could cut straight lines quickly and then use my hand snips/shears to cut around tight curves. The price is very good for these compared to name brands and they work just as good.

Cuts 20 gauge stainless steel with ease!
I was a bit skeptical when it said that it would cut up to 20 gauge of stainless steel. I thought it would get bogged down. I was pleasantly surprised. I cut about 15' of 20 gauge stainless steel with no problem at all. I also used it for cutting .100" thick diamond plate aluminum. That's almost 10 gauge! I cut the diamond plate from the back side which makes it easier...but it did struggle every so often as it would get hung up on the raised tread pattern.... I'm happy with that since they never claimed it would cut that thick to begin with. Overall great value for the money.

Tin cutter
Wish the jaws opened farther for joints, cuts well on flat stock.

Easy crosscutting of 2" oval corrugated roofing
OK, guess what? This makes crosscutting 2" oval corrugated roofing a breeze. Worth the price for just this one job. Tool comes from Genesis brand from a company called Richpower Industries in Williamston SC. The given address is a small warehouse building in an industrial park with no signage.Comes with a real American-English set of easy read instructions. No real learning curve here. Just pull the trigger and off you go. 5 Stars. It is important to have the metal secured somehow to maintain control of the tool, especially on the corrugated roofing. My roofing was in place and the tool easily cut through two thicknesses where the panels overlapped.

Good tool blades questionable. Get second or wait a day to finish your project.
Decent tool. Blade that came with it was bad. Broke immediately upon first use on 14 gauge aluminum. Had to buy a replacement blade set. So if you order order blade set too just in case.

Worth is for just 1 cut!
I had just one cut to make with this and it worked great. The cut was 36 feet long though and would have been terrible with hand shears. I won't use this a lot but when I need it I have it! And it's inexpensive!

GREAT tool! Wish I had bought it earlier!
Very smooth performance for cutting aluminum rigid ducts. I tried tin snipers but it was super hard and I wasted hours, this tool made the job so much easier and faster. Love it!

This shear is heavy as far as hand tools.
PRO: What I like is that will cut 14ga per the ad. I have only used it so far on hardware cloth. Works sorta well. Cons: Heavy, after a few minutes use, fatigue will set in. Bottom cutting jaw reciprocates and top jaw is fixed. When trying to cut something on a table surface, you cannot rest the tool on that surface or it'll bounce with each reciprocating cycle. This makes it difficult to cut screen or chicken wire with large hole spacing. Cutting hardware cloth will leave little 1/4" fragments due to the dual cutting blade setup.
