Great mic stand.
This boom stand is different than most in that it does not have a separate boom that screws on the top. The boom is an integral feature that nests inside the main tube when it is not needed. Sort of like a Yamaha cymbal stand boom. Despite having no counterweight, the boom angle adjustment tightens and holds the arm securely. I regularly use this fully extended to put an x-y pair of condensers in a grand piano with no stability problems at all.The stand is light, and folds compactly, yet is extremely stable. The only thing to watch is that the boom will not swing laterally, if you are a drummer who likes to swing the mic out of the way when it isn't being used, will not work for this. All other uses, however are exemplary

A really good stand for gigging musicians
The best stand that’s also light weight. It’s a snap to adjust. Hopefully this lasts long considering it’s not the cheapest

Work horse
Works as it should, very sturdy. A little pricey, but I've been gigging out with it and it seems great so far. And built better than On-Stage or anything like that cheap mic stands.

Best Boom Mic Stand. Period.
I am a bit of a research freak when it comes to purchasing gear. I looked high and low for a boom stand from companies like Ultimate, K&M, and OnStage to name a few and this was the stand I ended up with. Here are my reasons why:1. Quick-N-EZ adapter: Yes, the name is lame but the concept is amazing. Instead of spinning your shockmount around and around 50 times on the boom, just have a simple clutch that removes the end piece and easily screws into any clip or shockmount and attaches with the flick of a finger. Simple and genius.2. The ability to adjust all parameters of the boom with one LARGE knob that is very easy to turn.3. The boom hides into the stand for storage.4. The stand is built like a tank, heavy, and not easy to tip over.If you want one steadfast boom stand that will last you for years... this is your stand.

This stand is killer.
It's expensive. Is it worth almost $100 ... well that's up to the individual. Is it sturdy? Yes. It definitely is. The fact that the "boom" slides into the bottom makes it easier to store. Less like to get damaged. The clutch piece is awesome and makes it so much easier to set up than the other style on other stands. It'll get beaten at gigs so we'll see in a few months if I'll buy another. I've dealt with Hercules customer service before and they're really great. So that's a plus. I'd say try it out for yourself and see how awesome it is.

Best mic stand I have ever found in my 15 years as a musician.
This is the best mic stand I have found. While I suppose it could be "stripped" it's a lot easier to adjust with its knob than the ones with the lever that I have previously had. My general experience with all the Hercules products is that they are superior.
