This is our second lunii. The first lasted five years of daily use and many, many vacations, including tent camping. My two kids take turns listening to stories at night time and now, at 9 & 10, still enjoy it. I recommend it as a great tablet alternative for car rides and night time. We have purchased additional stories, and they are priced comparable to a book. I think it's a great value.

We received used and dirty story box. Also be careful there is a newer much better version of it but the one we received was the old one. The description of the product is incorrect.

I just bought this “used like new” for 80% of the price and a previous buyer must have swapped a super old one for a new one.The one I received has years of wear and tear.Returned it immediately.Too bad. We love the Lunii but ours stopped working and it would be a bit expensive to buy a second new one in less than 2 years.

The media could not be loaded. This device was easy to set up and use. Press the home button and turn on. You then choose the character: Ben or Susan, a place (three choices) another person (3 choices) and an object (two choices). It then tells a 3 minute story using these choices. It’s simple to use, with 5 button total, I used this with my 6 year old nephew and he understood it quickly. Of course, he can YouTube a cartoon on an iPhone, so this is a cake walk. It also has a jack for earphones, which make this a good option for car trips. This reminds me of Mad Libs, where you fill in the blanks into a pre-written story. The nice thing about this is no internet needed, and it has a long battery life. It’s also nice for kid’s to hear a story and use their imagination (remember those?) instead of watching a cartoon on a tablet for hours. You can download the app for additional stories, or create your own story. I haven’t tried that yet, but so far the ones on the device are entertaining my nephew.

It is a wonderful concept and my kids love it. BUT these break all the time, not because my kids are rough with them, they are just poorly made. If its not the screen not working, it is the sound, if its not the sound it is the charging port not working. At this point we have asked for replacements 3 times. The warranty expired and guess what, one of them is not working already. We have 4 of these and they are NOT cheap.

The media could not be loaded. This is a great idea for bedtime stories or anytime stories. Interactive enough to not need a screen. One of the features that attracted me to this product was the ability to record your own stories. On the downside, I’d have to download the Luniistore app to an Android device and the Luniistore on a PC. Neither ended up being cumbersome once I used them. To record stories, the app must be used - the app guides through the easy process. Next, the device must be connected to a PC and the recording can be added from the Luniistore. The device can hold up to 30 hours of stories. The catalogue has familiar characters and books. Books from the Luniistore range in price. The outer cover on the box says there are 14 albums available for free in the Luniistore, but I didn’t see how to redeem them. I was given a free book (“Sweet Dreams Stories”) with 6 stories to create. It comes preinstalled with 3 hours and 41 minutes of “The Fabulous Adventures of Suzanne and Ben.” I like that it doesn’t require batteries and charges via USB-C. I especially like that it has its own speaker so kiddos don’t have to fall asleep with headphones on.
