Bought as a spare key after locking keys in vehicle. I know a guy in a hardware store that was able to cut the key with no problem. Then I programed the key using Jscan. It will run the vehicle and the keyless entry works fine. Much easier to program than I had expected. It's a 2013 JK.

I bought a Dodge Ram from auction that had a "valet" non chipped key but no programmed keys. The issue I ran into was finding a locksmith willing to cut and program my keys. Most will want to sell you their keys. I was fortunate to find a mobile locksmith that cut the keys and programmed them for me. They programmed fine and the fobs work great. If you run into an issue finding a locksmith willing to cut the keys for you, try having them cut by Home Depot or Lowes. I've gone that route by purchasing normal key blanks to pay for the key cutting and had them cut the fob keys for me. However, they will tell you they are not responsible if the keys do not fit.

Seems to be working fine so far. Was fairly easy to program with a video off of Youtube.Cheaper for a replacement key than through the dealer or an aftermarket kit.To program, you will need both factory keys, instructional videos can be found on Youtube.

Bought this for my parents 2011 Jeep Wrangler, it currently has 1 original and 1 already previously replaced key (they lost the second original) got here within the week. Used the instructions that came on the card inside the packaging. Was easily explained, and in a matter of 5 min, we got ourselves an extra key. Definitely worth the $12-13 we paid. Happy it came with a battery, buttons are a little stiff but heck- it’s a brand new key. Key was cut at a key shop, I programmed it to the jeep, and had no issues; even test drove it just in case and security beepers etc came on and so far none yet. Btw, you will need 2 keys regardless.. for us it didn’t matter that it wasn’t BOTH originals but instructions do call for the first already programmed to be used to pair the extra.

Taken to Locksmith to have key cut and they use an electronic box to program the key with the 2 original key fobs. Key was inserted into ignition causing electrical problems, warning lights to go off, and the car will not start. DO NOT BUY!

They worked great! And WAY cheaper than the dealer price! Programming was normal
