Yes it has dividers and the can be taken off if you do not want to use them

Ad indicates this requires 4 aa batteries. where do they go? i'm looking to install this cooler in a party bus and need to know if i will have access.

The batteries are installed right next to the button for the lights. It is on the backside of the cooler so if you put the backside on so you can lift the lid and it's permanent you will not have easy access

What would you use the garden hose attachment for?

to use the melted ice to water plants or direct the drainage. It is a piece of crap otherwise.
