Totally met our expectations!
We debated in the FreeStep for months and finally decided to buy it. We couldn't be happier! It's a great all over body workout and we feel so good after we've worked out. We've had other cardio machines and weren't happy with them, but we couldn't be happier with our FreeStep. We want to workout and we enjoy our workouts which is half the battle! Highly recommended!

I wish I had bought this years ago!
I wanted to use this machine for a couple weeks before reviewing it to see if any quirks or bugs would show up, but I have to say I'm enormously pleased! Honestly, I wish I'd gotten this thing years ago.I decided to spring for the more expensive model in favor of a more comfortable seat, and some other perks. I figured that a workout machine should be solid and well-made, and so I shouldn't skimp on it. I'm glad I went for it. First of all, the workout is FANTASTIC. I can work up a major sweat and burn a ton of calories in a short time with absolutely no pain. It also doesn't get as tedious as some workouts can. You can switch it up by turning the handles, or arms only, or legs only. The tension adjustment is right by the seat, so it's easy to change without having to move. The machine itself is indeed solid and well-made. The assembly has you putting multiple bolts with locking washers at every joint. There's no rattling or wobbling. The handles and front bar are coated with a comfortable non-slip rubber. The seat and seat back are thick and comfortable. The foot pedals are big enough to allow for any size foot in any position, and the textured plastic keeps your feet in place. The construction is heavy metal tubing that the manufacturer didn't skimp on, but the footprint of the thing is small, so it fits nicely in our little workout room. There's no reason this thing won't last for decades.Several reviews on this product complained about the assembly. Baloney! The directions were quite clear, and each step gives you the hardware in a bag labeled for that step. There wasn't much to it, and the tool they give you works for everything. The computer console is very simple, but sufficient. It cycles through time, calories, distance, and speed. There's a single button to select the mode, or press and hold to reset at the beginning of the workout. There's also a convenient place to rest a tablet or phone for watching or listening to something while you sweat. It does take some trial and error to find the right positions for the seat and handles. The one very minor complaint I have is that the seat could be a little more adjustable. The mechanism has locking points that are widely spaced and move the seat either up and away from the pedals, or down and toward the pedals. Those locking points could be closer together, and it would be nice if there was a feature that allowed you to slide the seat forward or back horizontally as well. But even with that very minor comment, it was possible for me to find an adjustment that works well for me. Between the adjustments of the seat, the handles, and where my feet rest on the pedals I was able to find the right combination to be comfortable. Now I just sit down and go.It's an awesome machine. I highly recommend it!!

High quality, sturdy, smooth motion, quiet. Well worth the $!
I just put this together today. LOVE IT. Packaged extremely well, incredibly sturdy with perfectly machined heavy-duty parts. Very easy to put together. I have neuropathy in my hands but was able to fairly easily assemble this myself (I’m a mildly “handy” woman in case anyone is wondering) though it probably took me a little longer than average. The instructions are some of the best I’ve ever seen, so clear and easy to follow. Screws, bolts and washers all neatly se parated into small plastic bags for each stage of the assembly, no missing parts. After assembly I tried it out, and it is everything I wanted. This is a high quality, very sturdy machine, and beyond well worth the price. If you are worried about the quality because it’s only $750 and all the other machines like this are thousands of dollars, don’t be. I have pain and numbness in my hands and feet, and this machine is perfect. Big wide pedals so I don’t have to worry about my feet slipping off, easy to grip handles, very smooth motion and whisper quiet - it barely makes any noise at all. I was very impressed; in all ways it is better than I expected and more than I could hope for. If I had anything to complain about it would be that the seat bottom is a bit small for my bottom, but it still seemed comfortable when using the machine. I tried all the different positions (very easy to adjust the seat back angle, seat height and the many different arm handle positions) and it really seems like this recumbent elliptical hybrid can do it all. Also the place for my iPad is perfect, grips it nicely. I have A LOT of medical problems that make exercising difficult but I am looking forward to using this piece of equipment, and I can’t say enough good things about it. I thought buying one of these online was a bit risky (because what if after assembly I didn’t like it and had to return it?) but finding a store that has a few true hybrid ellipticals that are recumbent to select from and try out was not happening in central North Carolina. This machine exceeded my expectations and I urge those of you thinking about it to be comfortable choosing this one.
