The Four Doors: A Guide to Joy, Freedom, and a Meaningful Life

I have always looked forward to Richard Paul Evans Christmas novels, so this year I was intrigued by Mr. Evans' choice to share his non-fiction book "The Four Doors". Richard is an engaging speaker so I knew that this book would be a fascinating read. I must admit I had some trepidation when I started reading. By the time I was finished, I was awestruck and had to immediately read it again. This book gently prods the reader to examine their own thinking and views on the world. I was surprised at how faulty my internal dialogue can be and how my own thoughts shape how I perceive experiences and grow in life. I really appreciated his use of "Mental Maps" and found his analogies throughout the book profoundly thought provoking. Richard's personal experiences and stories of others that he conveys in this book are heartwarming and eye opening. The many quotes and affirmations he shares are relatable for everyone. There is so much depth in this book and it is personally challenging, yet it is easy to read and understand. I was particularly inspired by the lessons on Love I learned in the chapter on the fourth door. This is book will speak those who read it. I think it will touch each person who reads it in a different personal way. I know several people I will be sharing this book with and I will be recommending it to all who will listen to me! Richard Paul Evans wisdom will give you pause to ponder and his down to earth insights are written in a heartfelt way. His words are a gift. This book is a treasure!

Artwork.. A whole picture. As a first time reader of Richard Paul Evans work, I was warmly invited into wanting more. At first, my trust meter was gently triggered into wondering if our author had what it took, to complete the book as strong as it started. For in this time in life, cheap versions of how to live written from lofty theologians are not welcome. Only the robust authors, who are with me in the trenches are welcome into my mind. And I proudly welcome Richard Paul Evans in.. You can take up space in my world anytime!! I held my breath as I read each chapter and amazing story interwoven into the strong, sound life principles. The words breathed life into me, and I relaxed, knowing I had found a seasoned man, who lives what he writes of; and is in the arena sharing his story on this incredible journey. He allowed me to rest in his shade tree, as he does not give cheap tactics, or solutions to a life's path, but rather nudges of curiosities, and simply action steps to move into a loving, fulfilling life. I appreciated most, the piece on fear of failure, and the story of Heather. Man alive.. 10 years later.. wow. Just that one piece of the puzzle, will forever change me when I think I want to stay hidden in passivity. I will stand a little taller, and braver in my arena because of this amazing book. The Four Doors - was a wonderful book and a joy to read. I have since read Richard Paul Evans' "The Road to Grace" and would also recommend that one to all. Both are very inspirational and helps one look at life in a very positive light.

This should be a must read for everyone, especially highschool freshmen, seniors and college freshmen. I've had this book on my nightstand for a couple of months. I thought it would be a Pollyanna approach to life, with lots of religious instruction. It is so practical and easy to understand, but don't get the idea that the advice will be simple to follow. Life is hard work. Life isn't fair, nor just. But to learn the basic truths Mr. Evans has put forth will fill your life with purpose. Understand this is not a get rich quick guide, or a guide to everlasting happiness. It is a guide for finding your individual purpose. As we get older, often times we feel we have no purpose anymore. But instead, our purpose continues until there is no longer life in our bodies. Read it, you'll see. Share it. This is not a long drawn out 400 page guide to living. It's 142 pages of deeply simple answers to what is really important.

I heard about Richard Paul Evans via my church and download both books The Christmas Box and The Four Doors. I am not a very avid reader but purchased it last night and read the whole book it is that awesome and inspiring. So thought provoking and makes me want to take action. This is a very special author and an easy read, take time and invest you will not be disappointed. A true 5 star book. Love Love it. Thank you Richard for being such an inspiration. :)

I have always been a fan of Evans' books! When I finished his first book, 'The Christmas box', I purchased one for everyone in the family! Each new book he writes needs to be shared with everyone you know! 'The Four Doors' is no exception! It is filled with amazing insightful wisdom you will clearly see as you step threw each door with him!!! I have ALL of Richard Paul Evans books. This one had a lot of personal wisdom. 1. Believe there's a reason you were born. 2. Free yourself from limitations. 3. Magnify your life. "We rarely regret our failed attempts, but we nearly always regret the ones we don't take. 4. Develop a love-centered map. Order this book and find amazing insights to living life positively!
