Awesome Size, Good Customer Service
I really love that this is a larger umbrella that still folds. It's size does an awesome job at keeping the rain off of me and my backpack. I also love that it comes with an umbrella sleeve, which makes tucking the umbrella in a sidepocket of my backpack very convenient, instead of having to hold it in my hand and worry about getting myself or my items wet when I'm finished using the umbrella. It's got a nice strong wooden handle and the open/close button allows the umbrella to easily open and close. I got the yellow umbrella, and really love how bright and colorful it is, despite the gloomy weather. Lifts my spirits a bit. It's the little things... I've used the umbrella in torrential rains and it's protected me well. No complaints with quality or performance. My one fault is that I initially didn't always remember to use up/down button and tried to close the umbrella by manually pulling down the cover while the umbrella was open, (like I'm used to with my older umbrellas). It caused some of the spokes of the umbrella to bend, making it harder to open and close the umbrella. However, these umbrellas come with EXCELLENT warranty and customer service. I was able to send an email directly to the company and was sent a new umbrella immediately. I'm one very satisfied customer!

Disappointed.
Umbrella always seems to fail. After four purchases, I shoulda have learned my lesson. The first three lasted me years. My most recent purchase of May 2, 2025 only lasted me four days of use. And since June 2, 2025 was the last day to return the item, I’m out $30. So much for “lifetime warranty” umbrella. The umbrella won’t iron anymore. Disappointed.

Sturdy, Stylish, and Built to Last
This umbrella is both unbeatable and great looking. It’s a bit heavy, but that’s the trade-off for true quality. It feels like the real deal, not a flimsy umbrella that breaks with the first strong wind.

Still a great umbrella, but one "improvement" actually makes it worse
First, let me say that I love this umbrella. It's sturdy, compact, and has a huge canopy when opened. (I want something that's going to cover me AND my backpack, while commuting!) After buying one 5 years ago, I decided it was getting a bit hard to close, and decided to replace it with the same thing. Well, the difference between the one I bought 5 years ago, and the one I just received today, is an "improvement" made to the strap that holds it closed. The original one I got had a Velcro closure. This one new has a snap button. Now, granted -- one of the main reasons I'm replacing the old one is that over time the Velcro closure doesn't hold as well as it used to. But, my problem with the snap closure is that it's much less forgiving. Even trying it out in dry conditions, it took a major effort to get the umbrella compact enough for the strap to reach around it and allow it to actually snap closed. I just can't imagine doing that with it when it's wet from rain, and I'm in a hurry! (And don't want to get really wet wrestling with a wet umbrella.) Maybe it's that the strap is just too short, and too optimized to close when the umbrella is perfectly folded -- which, when you're on the go, is never. If the strap itself were a little longer, it would be fine. As it is, I'm going to have to buy some additional bungee or velcro strap to carry around to put on it. And that's an inconvenience, considering that the first one of these that I bought worked so perfectly for many years.

heavy, hard to open and close--top finally shot off like a rocket and is now useless
I bought this umbrella hoping for a compact but large canopy umbrella. I thought that push button open AND close would be good. I like the large canopy that kept me and my bag dry. But I was disappointed on several points: 1) umbrella is rather heavy, 2) handle is short so umbrella is top heavy and not well balanced 3) I have to turn umbrella with difficulty in my hand (or use 2 hands) in order to line up my thumb with the push button 4) tie down strap is just barely long enough to close around closed canopy when it is DRY and is a struggle to close when it is WET (especially since I have small hands and it's difficult to get my fingers around the closed wet canopy) 5) pushing the button to open requires quite a bit of thumb strength 6) push button close requires 2 steps: push button to close canopy then both hands are required to compress the handle toward the canopy to collapse the spring-driven shaft UNTIL IT CLICKS FIRMLY. Otherwise, the shaft will pop open again and the umbrella cannot be opened or closed further with the push button. I have gotten soaking wet so many times getting into my car in the 2 1/2 months I've had this umbrella. The final straw was when it was pouring rain and I held the umbrella up as I got out of my car, pushed the button and the canopy and the top half of the shaft and spring shot out about 20 feet across the parking lot leaving me holding the bottom half of the shaft and handle in my hand. It is now totally useless with the spring hanging out. I noticed other buyers have had similar experience. I would prefer an umbrella that I can easily open and manage with one hand. Would not buy it again.

Very good gents' umbrella. Well made.
Needed a new umbrella and ordered this one. It is a little heavier, and larger than a lot of umbrellas, but definitely a good one for a man.

54" Compact Umbrella – Reliable Protection, Slight Weight
I recently purchased the 54" Compact Umbrella, and overall, I've been quite pleased with its performance. While it does have a few drawbacks, its durability and reliability make it a worthwhile investment for staying dry during inclement weather. Let's start with the positives. This umbrella is undeniably sturdy. Its construction feels solid, and it holds up well against strong gusts of wind and heavy rain. The 54-inch canopy provides ample coverage, keeping me dry even during torrential downpours. Plus, the compact design makes it easy to carry in my bag or backpack without taking up too much space. However, one downside of this umbrella is its weight. While not excessively heavy, it does feel a bit cumbersome compared to lighter models on the market. This can be a minor inconvenience when carrying it for extended periods, especially if you're trekking long distances or navigating crowded streets. That being said, the trade-off for the added weight seems to be increased durability. I've used this umbrella in various weather conditions, and it has yet to show any signs of wear or tear. The reinforced frame and canopy materials inspire confidence that it will hold up well over time, even with regular use. In fact, I was so impressed with its performance that I ended up purchasing a second one in a different color. Having multiple umbrellas allows me to keep one at home and one in my car or office, ensuring that I'm always prepared for unexpected showers. In conclusion, while the 54" Compact Umbrella may be slightly heavier than some alternatives, its durability and reliability more than make up for it. If you're looking for a sturdy umbrella that can withstand whatever Mother Nature throws your way, this is definitely worth considering.

HUGE :) and great quality
I live in a notoriously rainy city along the Gulf of Mexico that often gets hit by hurricanes. During the rainy seasons, this umbrella is much better at keeping me dry due to its size than many other umbrellas I've tried. It also folds up nicely to fit into my work bag every day. It's sturdy and has lasted me 4 years so far and still going strong.
