Speakon connectors
I had heard of "Speakon" connectors before, but never had a chance to use them until now. WOW! What a wonderful design they are! They are easy to assemble, the screw compression terminals inside are rugged, grip the wire very well and are built strong enough to be screwed down "good and tight" without stripping or bending. After installing the wires, all that's left to do is screw the cover on. The cover is "ratcheted" so that it won't unscrew or fall off. Screwing the cover on also compresses the wire strain relief collet. When plugged into a mating socket, the Speakon connector snaps (latches) into place so it cannot fall out or be pulled out. A simple press of the release button allows the connector to be removed. For once, some engineer actually THOUGHT about ease of use, simplicity, quality and ruggedness when they designed the Speakon connector. Since they are available in 2, 4 and 8 pin models, they have a LOT of uses besides speaker connections. In summary, these connectors are the best engineered design I have ever seen, they are simple and easy to use (foolproof, actually), they are rugged, they lock into the socket when plugged in, they work great. Absolutely no complaints. Both thumbs up!

These are the best SpeakOn connectors I've used
These are really great SpeakOn connectors. I've got several SpeakOn cables which have cheaper connectors. These were from online music stores which are popular because their goods are cheap. They're all made in China, just saying, and then imported to the USA and sold under different company names in the USA. Although their SpeakOn connectors work, they all seem to have a problem with actually *locking* onto the SpeakOn female connector. But not these. These really lock onto the female end of the SpeakOn connector, i.e. the end which is embedded in the speaker cabinets. These connectors do cost more than the Chinese-made ones. But IMO they are totally worth it. They will keep your cables from accidentally coming loose from your cabinets. You certainly wouldn't want that to happen would you? I tell you that my Chinese cables don't lock on correctly, and are just "waiting" to come loose.

Hard to read lettering on the connector
Works great, assembles pretty quick and nice and secure. The lettering for the wiring on the body is hard to read. Small and same color (black) as the body. Heard Neutrik is the brand to buy and I will buy them again if I need more.

You can never go wrong with Neutrik connectors, they are worth the extra money!
Whenever I am buying connectors or cables, I always try to use Neutrik connectors. Their quality is always great and they are well designed. They are easy to install and well made with good strain reliefs and just well thought out in general. You can tell the people who designed these connectors have actually used them. They are just well made. I know I can always count on Neutrik. Yes, they are more expensive than other connectors. But they are worth it for sure for the quality and dependability you get.

don't be scared
worked well for my purpose. I'm not a pro dude. I just needed to put thousands of watts to a home theater sub woofer. The behringer amps are cheap and seem to work well (they are way over rated on power). The problem is the don't take bare wire and if your going to bridge one you have to have a 4 pole connector. I used this and am slowing killing myself with 17 hz test tones. easy to connect clearly labeled and screws and other connectors are well spaced and quality.

Quality Construction
I purchased this to replace another brand's Speakon connector that was damaged. When I compared the two connector's side-by-side the differences were apparent. The Neutrik connector had a much higher quality. The clip was more substantial with a better spring. The connector itself was composed of a stronger, denser material. The wire connectors were much larger and secured the individual wire ends in place better. It fit more solidly into the female connector and even the wire guide was stronger. It was better than the other brand in every detail. I use it for live rock shows so for me, it is definitely worth the extra money.

These are definitely a nice connector and well worth it. I have been happy with all of the Neutrik parts I have purchased and these are no exception. Go together very quickly and easily. Changed out all my cable ends in just a matter of minutes. Appear to be very well built and should hold up well.
