Amazing with Home Assistant and Zigbee
These have worked great so far! I don't use their app. I just connected them immediately to Home Assistant via Zigbee2MQTT. They have been an amazing addition to my exterior smart home setup.

If it wasn't for the poor /faulty Zigbee implementation, these lights would be a 5 star product.
These Paar 38 bulbs are super bright and very responsive to motion. But all 4 of the smart bulbs i have, are outdoor rated, and have been in use for a couple months now. I integrate the bulbs with my Home Assistant server through zigbee, which is controlling most of the lights in my house now, and all 4 bulbs had strong signal strength with nearby repeaters. After 2 months of use, the zigbee functionality has stopped working entirely. They worked perfectly fine for the first couple of months and seamlessly integrated with Home Assistant (My smarthome software of choice), but they started developing zigbee responsiveness issues after that, and would lose connection multiple times throughout the day, then they just stopped responding at all and will not re-pair with my zigbee controller. Even after factor resetting the bulbs (Flipping the lights off and on 15 times, which is super excessive when most zigbee products factor reset after 5 power cycles or less) I can not for the life of me get these to reconnect to my zigbee network even though i can reconnect and re-add all of my other zigbee devices just fine. Not only that, but you cannot set the default time the lights stay on for (At the time of writing this review anyway) in Home assistant. and are forced to use their app to change these options. Long story short, As a motion detecting bulb, it is perfect with very bright and clear light, and a very responsive motion sensor. But the core functionality, the zigbee implementation, either needs work, or a better zigbee radio/ implementation needs to be used and being able to set options to these bulbs without their app is a must, since zigbee is an open protocol and most other devices you can change default states and times in Home assistant easily without the aid of another app. I hate leaving such a poor review of such an otherwise awesome product. But this zigbee implementation MUST be fixed before I would ever recommend these bulbs to anyone.

Extremely easy to install do not go by bad reviews
Pay no attention to the people who are having these ridiculously outrageous complicated problems. It is them not the lightbulbs or the hub or the app. Trust me I am no genius. I got these on Christmas Day and we are in January and I finally got enough guts to put them in because I was so worried about what the bad reviews were and how daunting of a task it looked to be. It took me five minutes for four lightbulbs Once you do the initial pairing with your router you can unplug the little hub that the lightbulbs come with and as long as you keep it close enough that you can plug it in anywhere without having to plug it into the router so don’t get worried about having to stay in there if you don’t have an a porch because you don’t need to Listen I receive this is part of a Christmas gift to go with my Google hub. When I took it out of the box I said to myself what is this? What is this hub why is there an ethernet cable what is going on here. Pay no attention to the people who can’t seem to get this to work. I am no computer expert I have a google home and a hub Verizon FiOS I have an iPhone 7 not even a new one and I had absolutely no problem installing this. I actually was scared to install it or try because from the reviews that I was reading after I had already purchased this or actually it was given to me I was kind of scared to try to do it. Because when you open the box the directions are very weird looking it says you can call customer service but if you look at the reviews they said they don’t know anything either and that they had to send it back or they didn’t work or they couldn’t pair of them. I got four of them. All four of them were already paired with my hub it came with I just had to name them. Download the app it walks you through it step-by-step and if you plan on connecting this to your Google Hub or your Google home it is extremely easy to do. If you have to use the app I found no problems at all in using the app to control them. I don’t plan on doing that because that’s not why I got this but if I have to I know that is there and it is extremely easy. When I first looked at the app it gets like 2.5 stars and I said oh god here we go it’s going to be terrible. It’s not walks you through it take those little directions and toss them into the box you’re not going to need them. I am extraordinarily impressed with the quality of the lightbulbs they are very sturdy they are extremely bright and they do exactly what they are supposed to dim go bright turn on turn off with me saying hey Google If this is your first jump into the lightbulbs that are going to be controlled by your phone or your Google or Alexa I highly recommend them. They are an extremely cheap alternative to the Phillips which I am sure are much better they probably do a few more things a few different colors but guess what I don’t need that I’m 46 it is for a bedroom and office.

Very bright and easily connected to my echo dot. I love not having to get up to shut off the lights

Needed smart lights in a stairway the needed to be lit only when in use - these save me from having to bark commands at my smart home setup every time. Also very bright. Motion sensor is a bit overly sensitive, but I haven’t figured out whether that can be turned down.

I have had these for 6 months now and they are still working great. As I have an older house the switches are not wired with a neutral. This seem to be the easiest and less expansive option and they work well. I have them scheduled which includes brightness and colour. Recommend for anyone wanting smart lights without doing any wiring.
