Excellent tool at a great price!
This is a very innovative and well designed and built tool. Much more useful and user friendly than the standard military-style trenching tool. I bought the option which expands to 35" in length, so one can dig and chop standing up, or you can leave out one or more extension pieces for kneeling and using in a tight space. I confess I wondered just how strong the tool is, but on unpacking it found it is VERY strong, not flimsy or weak at all! A very good buy at an excellent price!

Highly Recommend
Very pleased with the value and quality. Haven't used it in the field yet, but the multifunctional capabilities are awesome. Quality of the assembly is high; the blades (of which there are several) are all sharp. The shovel is very handy and the axe is weighty/sharp. And it all fits into a surprisingly small/compact bag. Perfect gift for any dude - at a fantastic price. Excited to test it out on my next camping trip.

Truly strong
Shovel head was smaller than expected but the quality is absolutely amazing and i love the size and design of this. Iv had 20+ folding shovel and always felt they was weak or broken. This how ever is strong and durable. Everything fits perfectly. The only reason for 4 stars is that the handle is bigger than the spade shovel head

Turned out to be a life saver
I bought this a year or so ago thinking it looked cool and put it aside in storage and forgot about it. Over the weekend we had a large snow storm followed by ice. When I tried to shovel snow in the morning, my snow shovel could not make a dent in the ice pack. My three GS dogs could not make it out the back ramp without sliding and falling. As I sat wondering what could possibly break through the ice, I remembered I had this in the closet. It was wonderful, easily breaking up the ice down the ramp so the dogs could get in and out. I was so impressed I just ordered another to keep in the car.

Excellent shovel/pick
I used the shovel and pick for two weeks in the mountains and it worked as promised. It is not a heavy duty shovel or pick. Nor did it cost a lot of money so do not expect it to work perfectly. It is a lightweight small shovel that you can carry in your pack or in your car to get you out of a jam or collect samples of dirt. The little saw feature on the side came in handy with clearing some small roots. Not the best for cutting but it was better than nothing. Great product for the money. I will buy another one when this one breaks.

17 Inch Shovel Very Good. Customer Service Outstanding!
This is an edited review is for the 17" shovel. As far as the steel goes, it seems to be durable and strong. I've had my shovel since April of 2018 and have used it several times now camping and it does good job. The handle on mine seemed a little loose, but I fixed that by using some Teflon tape on the threads (see attached pic) and it does just fine now! Giving it 4 stars because the compass sticks. I took it out of the metal handle and keeping it level, made sure there wasn't any metal around and the needle just sticks. I have to tap it a few times before it points anywhere near north. EDIT: Raised to 5 stars! The seller contacted me just a few short hours after I wrote the review above. I was very impressed with the way they handled my issues with the shovel! Customer service is very important to me and they definitely proved to me they care. I do a LOT of camping and their store will be one of the first places I'll look in the future to see if I need any of their products. The compass issue was also resolved. EnjoyHall sent me a new compass and it works fine! Thank you EnjoyHall! 9/21/2020 Update: I've had and used this shovel now for nearly two years and it had become, hands-down, one of my favorite camping tools. I use this thing for nearly everything! I've even used it to dig out my Jeep Wrangler when it got stuck (yes, even as small as the shovel blade is, it worked wonderfully). It now stays in my Jeep and it goes everywhere I go. It is a great tool.

Detailed Technical Description - 31 inch Standard Version
I might be a bit long-winded here, but I got frustrated with the limited info on the product page and with the limited product reviews by others who bought this shovel. Hopefully I will answer the kinds of questions I had when trying to find the right shovel for me. My purpose is Adventure Motorcycle off-road, so it had to hit a sweet spot weight-wise and size-wise. This shovel blade is a bit smaller than the competition and mil-spec variants, but for a motorcycle it is fine. A metal locking nut was a requirement for me. Plastic locking nuts break too easily in cold temperatures, they are not resistant to dirt and sand, and it’s too easy to tear up the threads. I bought the 31-inch Standard Iunio shovel. Here is what I hope is a complete technical description so that if you plan to create any doo-hickies to go along with this shovel, you know what you will have to work with: Total weight including case, full 31 inches: 2 lbs 5 oz Total weight including case, 24 inches: 2 lbs 0.5oz (leave one handle section off) Total weight including case, 18 inches: 1 lb 11.5 oz (leave two sections off) Total weight including case, 13 inches: 2 lbs 5 oz (leave all 3 sections off) Nylon carry case weight: 4.4 oz Handle aluminum pipe outside diameter: 7/8 inch Handle rubberized cover over aluminum pipe outside diameter: 1.25 inches Handle pipe wall thickness: 3/32 inch Thread depth inside pipe handles: 1 inch (approx) Thread length outside pipe handles: 9/16 inch The threads on the handle sections are necked down to 1/2 inch plumbing pipe threads (like a 1/2 in galvanized steel water pipe.) This standard 31-inch version comes with three little “tools” that screw into the insides of the pipe handles: a whistle, a ferro rod, and a double-edge cutting tool with knife on one edge and saw on the other. The cutting tool can be turned around and screwed back into the handle to create a blade with a handle (see photo.) The shovel blade has saw teeth on one side, a sharp edge on the other, and a reasonable shovel edge on the front. If one plans to use this as an axe at any point, it might be wise to sharpen the axe edge before leaving home. It is not all that sharp out of the box. The blade and pick thickness is approx 0.09 inches (3/32 in) I plan to leave one section of handle at home, giving me the options of a 13 in, 18 in, or 24 in long handle if I need to use it in the boonies. Hope this helps you.

I have mixed feelings!
I have very mixed feelings about this product/shovel. First, for emergency purposes and/or bug out bags, this shovel would be alright. For a shovel, the head of the shovel is flat and very small. It will take a lot of shoveling to dig even the smallest whole. The cutting blade and the saw on the shovel are not sharp at all. The only sawing or chopping you will do is on very small items/branches. Branches that you will be able to break with your hands. Trust me, if you need a lot of equipment to go camping/or bugging out, you will still need an axe and a saw to go with this shovel. The good news is that this Emergency Tool/Shovel, is exactly what it declares - For Emergencies. Also, for tall people, you will have to buy an extension which they do have for $10.00. The extension is only for the 31 inch shovel. It is compact, fairly lightweight and has a good bag with molle straps to attach to a backpack. You won't want to put it on a belt. As far as the other tools that come built in with this shovel head, fire starter, whistle, etc. - just think of this as an emergency folding shovel. If you think of it that way, you will be alright with it. I did try using it today when I got the shovel, and as stated above, it will take a lot of strokes and shoveling to dig even the smallest hole. I'm keeping it for the trunk of my car just in case I ever get stuck in mud or a snow storm. I will also have it available in case I ever need to bug out. My suggestion, just buy a lightweight folding saw, lightweight military style compact shovel and a lightweight axe. You get what you pay for.
