Hi, I currently have the 2.25" wide x 20" long filter. This filer is 4.5" wide. I think it will fit but want 2 know the difference as-far-as filterin?

In general you need to know what water defects you want to filter out. If you have a sand and sediment problem, a charcoal filter is overkill. If your problem is odor, then this filter is probably good. For odor, there are carbon block filters and granular filters, don't know what the tradeoff is. This type is what my water treatment company recommended for my system, and I'd trust them

Running 1 sediment filter with no problem but the carbon 2 filters leak on big blue filter. Do you need to remove the black rubber seals on top/bottom

I had leak issues also with my Big Blue tanks. The rubber gaskets stay on the carbon filter but I had to devise a way to keep the filter centered while I tightened up the canister. I used three aluminum nails 120 degrees apart top and bottom to do this. I also found that the large "O" ring gasket at the top of the tank did not want to stay in position. I placed this gasket in hot water and then placed it in the lubricated channel. I applied the lubricant to the threads on the blue tank and then used the wrench filter to snug it up. That's how I got my leaks to stop. Hope this helps.

Will this fit in an AP810-2 cartridge?

According to the Big Blue specs, these filters are compatible with the AP810-2 system.

Why after installation. Open faucet after period of time, the water still is a bit white muddy

It's probably mico bubbles. Watch the "white" water for 30 seconds or so and see if the bubbles rise out and the water is clear.
