what size does the rod need to be to fit in these holes?

Up to 1" rod. I purchased a 7/8 rod and there's about 1/4 inch space left.

How far apart regarding placement of brackets? Hanging sheer drapes. 10 foot high to 14 wide area.

My rods were average weight. My brackets were placed about 18-24 inches apart (can't quite remember which). I hung cotton shower curtains (95 inches long) with drapery clips.

ceiling brackets ... what is the drop down dimension? how far down from the ceiling to where the curtain rod hangs ???

It is 3 inches from the mounting surface to the center of the rod whole.

Great for plants (:

I used these to hang plants and they've been working great. Easy to install for the most part. I havent tried testing them yet with my heavier plants but thats only bc i don't trust my walls &/or my installation (I have about 50% mobility in my left arm so it was a bit of a challenge for me to get these up with only one hand/arm, so I dont trust the way I installed them 100% just yet lol), plus its an old trailer so my walls/ceilings are kinda thin & fragile i feel like.. at least when I drilled thru them to hang these they seemed so.If i had someone else hang them, I'd probably be a bit more trusting but never the less I think i did good for the most part and they seem stable/sturdy. & they were easy enough to install. They do seem like they would hold a decent amount of weight though as long as installed correctly and everything.Im happy with them overall & glad I got them. They are perfect for my use! (:

Add a design look

I used the hooks to hang my shower curtains. They elevated up my design style. I had to order longer shower curtains but not a problem. Very polished look.

These are still up!

I bought these months ago and they are still doing their job! I hung these up and never had any problems, then I bought two more as you can see I wanted to hang curtains in a doorway type frame in my house!

How did I not know something like this existed?

These rod-hanger are fabulous. I have a studio apartment and was trying to find ways to define spaces in the one big room. Hanging a curtain in the middle of the room was easy with these! I didn't know how I'd figure out how to slide the curtains for when I do and do not need them. They were really easy to put up and comes with hardware for different type of mounting.
