Easy set up need instruction for resistance controller
Received it yesterday and set it up this morning. Very sturdy but I need a step to get into my bike. 5 stars for easy set up great instruction but no instruction on how to use the resistance. Resistance controller was set at 6 from the manufacturer, I tried to turn it to 1 but it was hard and I could only manage to turn the knob to 3. I tried pedaling while turning the resistance knob but it also was not working. Also, I think mine is defective since I didn’t feel any difference at all. I sent my inquiry to Sportneer and will wait if they can offer insight. If no response I will need to send it back. I need this for my bad knee and being able to change the degree of resistance will help increase the chance of recovery.**Edit: Sportneer responded to me within a day. It turned out the resistance controller can’t be wound around the frame. The knob works well now, however, the resistance is very minimally felt between 1 and 6. I am using the bike’s own gear to adjust resistance. Great customer service.

Good value for$$ - Customer Support is great
Edit 03/16/2023: Their customer support and assistance is by far the best I have experienced! After a few more emails about the previous replacement unit they had shipped (see original review below), their support representative went way above anything I had expected and replaced the entire unit. The replacement is brand-new and works the way it should, quiet and smooth. Here's a company that really stand behind their product and is willing to work with a customer to make things right if given the chance. I certainly would purchase from them again.----------------------------------------------------Original review:Purchased this stand to get some exercise while the winter weather is too ugly to go outside. Never owned one before so I went for the less expensive unit. Works fine, easy set-up, easy to use, nothing fancy.Problem came up about 2 to 3 months (approx 400 miles) later. Thing got really noisy, not just the expected tire noise. It started whining with a really noisy rumble that turned into loud scream as things got worse. Cranking the pedals by hand to observe, I also noticed the resistance wheel was wobbly and just screaming along even at low RPM. Not cool after 3 months of use. So, very disappointed there.Contacted the seller by email and was very surprised to actually hear back from them within 24 hrs! A couple of emails back and forth to give them details they wanted and they sent out a replacement. Surprised again. Opened the box and noticed the unit had some wear marks on the aluminum roller. Hm. Used unit.Swapped out the old screamer with the replacement unit and it was quiet. Nice. I figured I let them know I wasn't too happy about getting a used one and the customer service rep got back within 24 hrs again and we figured things out. Let's see how long this one lasts. My opinion: The stand is ok for the price, nothing fancy, pretty basic. Quality is lacking, considering the resistance wheel (most likely bearings) died after 400 miles in less than 3 months. So, not too thrilled about the quality. Maybe 2 stars for that.Customer support: Now that's a very pleasant surprise and not what one would expect from any company. Not only a response within 24 hrs but actually making an effort to make things right. For that I would rate 5 stars. All in all - 4 stars, mainly because of their customer support.Would I buy another one from them if I were to look for another stand? No, not that particular model. But I would consider another model from them just for the customer support.

Good value for the price, so far...
The box arrived in good condition and no parts were missing. The assembly instructions aren't great but aren't bad, and there's very little assembly so not a big deal. When I first mounted my mountain bike and started riding I was shocked by how loud it was. I'm not sure I would have continued using the trainer at that volume. Also, the action felt a little jerky to me at first, but it was the first time on any bike trainer for me so anything was going to be a step down from road riding. The next day I ordered a slick tire (26" WTB ThickSlick Comp tire) and OMG what a difference - the volume dropped by at least 70%. I also got used to the feel of the resistance and the pedaling became smoother for me. To get a good 30-minute workout I have to put my bike in the highest gear and fluctuate the resistance dial between the top 3 settings (4-6). I'm a 57 year-old moderate athlete, so someone in really good shape might not be as happy with this trainer. The jury is still out regarding durability and tire wear, but so far so good.

Just got set up. Barely used but all went well
It was a fairly easy set up. Replacing the spindle (axle) was quick. I read a complaint about setting the bike up and needing a kick stand to hold it steady. The fix? Turn the bike upside down while installing the axle. It was a little awkward getting the bike mounted on the trainer. Nothing major. I am running a road bike with very narrow new tires with no tread at the center. (designed that way. Tread on outside for turning) Not using a specialty tire. You will have some burn-in time on the tire and it will smell like burnt rubber. You have to have the tire pumped up to its max 100 psi or higher. You also need to adjust the fly wheel contact roller VERY tight, otherwise there will be slippage and jumping. The tire burn-in will leave shredded rubber on the floor until the tire gets slick and a little harder. Then the smell of burning rubber will go away. It was strong at first when I did not have the system tight enough. I use a Trek 1.2. An older model with rim brakes and that is what this trainer is designed for. The unit is quite heavy and very sturdy. I won't be riding unseated hard so there is no way this is going to tip on you. Instruction manual is quite hard to read as the font is way tiny. Young eyes or magnifying glass needed. I road for about ten minutes. If there are changes to my review, I will add that later.
