Portex Acapella DM (Blue)

This is my second one. First one lasted at least 4 years. I just decided time to get a new one. They work great, just as my pulmonologist told med.

I've only used this tool a few times. It took a couple tries to get it right. One YouTube tutorial I watched was all wrong and practically useless. But I researched online and finally learned how to use the Acapella correctly. (Couldn't find any detailed instructions that came with the tool itself. Weird.) One thing I can't seem to master is NOT coughing after each use, but I'm beginning to think the instructions about "not coughing" until one has used the tool about 10 times in a row are a bit misleading.

I got this to replace the one I got during a hospital stay. It is fine, works the same, but this has no numbers on the bottom to indicate the level of difficulty for each placement of the internal mechanism. The hospital issued one had numbers so you could easily see the level of difficulty that you were at.

Smaller than I thought but easy to handle. Came with instructions for use and how to clean device. Have started using it and it seems to do what it was supposed to do. As for effectivity, that will have to wait.

This item I purchased to get at mucus there is no way to clean it if you take it apart it says that you can but after I found out that it was not going to work right to start with I sent for a return slip which I got immediately no problem you just had to print it out it was not a QR which I did was displeased with that and also he did not get the job done it did not feel like it was rattling in my chest so he did to start with a couple of times and then that was it and then I tried to take it apart to clean it and that was a mistake cuz you cannot take it apart and clean it I didn't send it back because it was too aggravating to even try to send it back I still may send it back at this point to try to get my money back because it's useless even though I've tried and tried and tried to make it work correctly I get more out of doing the exercises before I get about a bed laying flat of my back and doing the breathing exercises I get more out of that than anything I'll try so far I hope this helps someone

I have long covid. As a result, I have a lung problem. I was told by a doctor to buy this to use to break up phlegm in my lungs. I do not know how well it works because it turned out much of my lung problem was caused by the medicine the doctor had me take for my lungs! Anyhow, it is well made and sturdy.
