The taste is wonderful
I bought these for my mom who has diabetes and when her blood sugar is low she eats some of them and it makes her feel better. She also loves them as an everyday snack. We first bought them at TJ Maxx (which they are cheaper there) but she ran out so quick I decided to order them on here since we don't have a TJ Maxx close by. Overall great taste and a healthy snack.

Is dry and less sweet a meaning that they are old?
I dont know if this is bad or good cuz im not used to dates.Some are too sweet even with NO added sugar. Those are actually hard, dry and less sugary so that is kinda why i liked the best. But im not an expert, but at least I hope this is a guide for you buying them.Reviews are right - they are dry and less sweet.

Very Dry and Tough
My local stores have been out of stock due to the hurricane, so I ordered these. They are slowly getting things back in inventory and I hope they get their dates back in stock soon. These are very dry and very tough skin. I would never buy them again.
