Great!
How do you salvage a very old garage door opener that is still mechanically sound but the remote(s) are failing and no longer made? You get one of these remote control switches and you have a more modern solution at a minimal price! The good: Extremely easy to install. Works well. Can be configured to operate in multiple ways: momentary switch, toggle or latched. To work withe the garage door opener, momentary contact is the applicable mode. As ca be seen in the pictures, the receiver is extremely small. This facilitates its installation (anywhwre) but also requires careful handling when attaching the wires. Installation tips: You need an external 12 VDC power source. I used a discarded wall charger that I had from an unrelated product. My unit came pre-configured in latching mode, so I had to configure it to momentary contact operation. Just follow the instructions for configuring the modes in the attached booklet, don't try to reset or pair anything. Two clicks and you're done. I found that each remote had to be configured to operate in momentary mode separately, i.e. I first thought that a single mode configuration would have been sufficent; not so, I had to repeat it for the second remote. For some applications, the above may be a useful feature, as you can make the receiver operate differently depending on which remote one uses. Not my case as a garge door opener. The remotes feel well made and I ordered visor clips to put them in the cars. In summary, I am very pleased with the product. It solved my needs and added life to my ancient garge door opener!

Neat little tool
Works great, remote has decent range in a challenging environment. As a note, I found mine can operate down to about 9 volts. That may be helpful to somebody. Smaller than I thought, which is good. Instructions were clear enough. I'd buy it again.

Remote switch
This operates on 12 volts. Unfortunately other voltages like 24 volt or 5 volt are not available. But it does work very well at rated voltage. Would buy again .

Great kill switch for motorcycle
The range was about 300ft in the video. Very easy to install as a kill switch in my carbureted motorcycle as a ground kill for the cdi. Remote is good. Very small and fits in as a real component on the bike. Would recommend. Also the bike is very quiet in the video but if you listen closely you can hear it kill when I press the button.

Great remote switch!
This wireless remote switch is sweet! Worked instantly after programming it in latched mode. Instructions on programming are shown in video and just a matter of pushing the button 3 times in my case for latched mode. Push the remote buttons you are using (A and B in my case) and it's done. Couldn't be simpler. Seems to have great range throughout the house. Going to use it in a ham radio remote antenna project to just push the button without having to go outside and move wires around. If your looking for a wireless remote get this one!

Good for garage door opener
I bought this as a hack for adding garage door remotes at a reasonable cost. In addition to this kit you will need a continuous source of 12 volts DC to power the receiver and relay. I found a deal on Amazon for 10 bucks for two units that is working fine for me. SmoTecQ 12V 2A Power Supply AC Adapter. Here are the steps, based on my experience: 1. Identify the terminals in the opener that if momentarily shorted will trigger the door to operate. these terminals can be found on the main chassis with the motor, or at one of the hard-wired push buttons that operate the door. The location should be near an AC outlet so you can plug in the power supply mentioned above. Do not be tempted to use a small battery for the 12 volts. I tried that and it worked, but the battery would only last a few hours. 2. Wire the power supply to the receiver unit. 3. Wire as well as the terminals for triggering the door to the Normally Open terminals on the receiver. 4. With the receiver unit powered and connected, pair all 5 remotes with the receiver following the included directions for pairing in the "Momentary mode". It's easy. You press the "Learn" button once, wait exactly 3 seconds and then press the "on" button on the remote. Repeat the entire procedure for each remote. That's it. Done.
