Too Many Loose Ends at the End.
First off, I wanted to give it a 3 star but I figured few would read it. I was greatly disappointed at the end because the story didn't end, but the series did. Because of cost issues there wasn't a Season 4 to tie up numerous story lines. The first season was very good. Starting at season 2 thru 3 the writing wasn't very good. It seems like they took turns loosing common sense multiple times in each episode getting themselves into trouble. You could see it coming and shout at them. In the last two seasons there were about six good episodes with a good story line. The actors did very well despite the writing. They bonded well over the 3 seasons. Other than what I just said I did enjoy it because Arthur Conan Doyle was the basis. There were no subtitles if that is important.

A Collectible set
I enjoyed watching this series on cable TV some twenty years ago. Though the quality is basic and the aspect ratio is 4:3, the picture and sound are as good as when I watched it on cable. I felt that the background music is loud. It would have been better if there are subtitles. Anyway this is a collectible set for me that is available at easily affordable price.

Thrilled to have this on DVD
I have been looking for this on DVD for a long time and I finally found it! First the negative: This is a bare bones release, no subtitles or any special features. The image quality is basic, maybe slightly improved over VHS. The audio quality is decent, but nothing special. Now the positive: The film company, FILM CHEST MEDIA, released this 12 DVD set without STACKING the DVD's one on top of each other! Each individual DVD is placed in it's own case, so no scratching. Thank God someone at the company cared enough! The overall box set is well put together and looks great to me. This was an enjoyable series back in the 90's and I'm so happy to have this in my collection. I never saw the last season so I can't wait to see what happens. Thank you FILM CHEST MEDIA for this release. If anyone from the company is reading this please think about releasing on DVD "Land of the Lost" (1991-1992). Fingers crossed.

I am so excited to receive this box-set. I watched this back in the late ninetees on sci-fi channel at lunchtime and waited for it to come out. I watched each and every episode and really got to know the characters inside out. My personal favorite has to be Veronica Layton portrayed by the beautiful Jennifer O Dell. She is the life and soul of the series. Then there is Professor George Challenger (Peter McCauley). who is more than happy to be abandoned in a world of new discoveries and gadgets! I don't like when Lord Jonh Roxton (John Snow)shoots the dinosaurs, but I guess I'm an anImal lover and I LOVE Rachel Blakely as Margurite Krux. David Orth is very sensible and wise as Ned Malone. It's so good, and reassuring, they have an electric cable fence around their tree house! It keeps out dinosaurs and those rogue cavemen too! I am going to watch one episode every night and enjoy it's if it is coming LIVE. Thank you so much to Amazon and the Seller! 100 OUT OUT 100. So happy and excited!!!
