This is the brand to buy.
I have multiple Autoimmune Diseases that of course come with skin issues & very random inflammations.I’m no professional but I do a lot of research to find natural & cost effective ways for treating my skin as well as taking care of it on a daily basis.I’ve read a lot of great things about this oil & was excited to buy it & find ways to use it.The hardest part was choosing which brand to purchase.Everyone should do their own research & not rely completely on reviews. I read a lot about other products that “smelled rancid” or were “black in color” Look into why that happens & scroll past Googles sponsored results on “Top 10 Brands”When it comes to this oil, some may not enjoy the scent but it doesn’t smell bad. It smells earthy for sure. I promise, you’ll get used to it.The color is the correct green with a high viscosity. Which means it’s oily & a little goes a long way.It won’t leave you with green skin but it will give you a lot of moisture with just a few drops. This brand always puts out good quality products & is priced in the middle of the road which I love.I’m glad I purchase this. I’m sure I’ll purchase again. It was leaking just a little bit in the box when delivered. I blame myself for ordering instead of just going to a store to buy it.

Good for skin
I hate to give a glowing review for this item in case it gets harder to find. I have multiple issues with the skin on my face from forehead dandruff to acne on my jawline. This seems to deal with all of it. And aids quick healing. Thick and greasy going on but it soaks in pretty quickly. I have no problems with the smell. I kind of like it. It's natural smelling not perfumy.

Hydrating
The first time I put this oil on I felt it sink deep into my skin and hydrate it. I use other oils too, but if I skip this one, I notice that my skin feels drier a layer below. It's a strong smell, like an herbal store, or strong celery. I got fond of it pretty soon, and looked forward to it. But like all smells, it grows fainter the more you use it.

This is what Tamanu Oil looks and smells like!
My mother worked in a health food store back in the 90’s/early 2000’s; she did the ordering for their supplements, skin products, etc. She taught us so much about healthy living and natural skin care (this was when Burt’s bees was still coming to them, doing demonstrations and giving out samples galore….) So, I should have known to just purchase this NOW brand from the start. I previously had to return another brand due it to its questionable quality. NOW is reliable-see my photo; this is what Tamanu oil should look and smell like. A darker green oil, with little specks of healthy goodness and it smells nutty. It should never look gray or smell rancid/like motor oil, which that other brand was last bottle. Yes, NOW costs more per ounce, but I am more than happy to pay it. It lasts form months and I know what I am getting-consistency and quality. I make my own moisturizer morning and night-a simple mix of Fruit of the Earth aloe vera gel, with a few drops of Tamanu oil. It makes a light cream, soaks in well and the aloe gives me a slight firming effect. No, I do not and will never look 20 again, but this keeps my middle aged crazy acne at bay and makes my face feel just a little less saggy. Also, I love the other things Tamanu can do (look them up as far as cell renewal, sun damage, etc.) I was paying over $20 for a tiny jar of the (supposedly) exact same thing, when I can easily make it fresh every day.

Smells strongly of barn hay. Heavy oil, just sat on skin
I put this heavy oil on and hours later I still felt like it was sitting on the surface, especially on my lip. And the smell was so strong. When I washed my face that night, my skin felt tough. I retried it day 2 and by the end, I had extremely leathery dry, itchy face skin under the oil and cystic acne on the sides of my face started to form. I've never had a problem with oils and lotions before. Just my experience.

Great for DRY skin!
Letting the secret out: this is great for dry skin!I have to reapply moisturizer and other oils every 2-3 hrs in the winter- even vaseline doesnt trap moisture in like tamanu oil does. I am so grateful for this product! Now i only have to reapply moisturizer about every 6-8hrs! I have dry, maturing skin, and its winter!
