Works Great!
I was a little unsure about buying this product based on reading some of the reviews that complained about noise and poor filtering ability, but I'm glad I took the risk and bought it because it is working very well for my small 5' x 2' workbench. First off, I'm not sure what people's expectations are with noise. The workhorse of the device is a small desktop fan, which is no louder than any other small desktop fan you would buy at a home goods store. Noises in my workshop (basement level) can be easily heard in the main floor bedrooms of my house through the ventilation system and I haven’t heard any complaints from my family members after using the fan at night for several months. Regarding filtering ability, if the product is used as described (within 10 cm between front filter and workpiece), all visible flux smoke enters through the front of the filter and no visible smoke exits the back if using fine electronics solder (~20 AWG) and a low wattage iron (~20 W). If you are using larger gauge solder and a higher wattage iron, it can be a bit difficult to filter all the smoke created, which I’ve noticed on some larger pieces, but if the ‘within 10 cm’ distance is maintained, most of the smoke is captured. I have a Levoit air purifier on the main floor of my house which has a sensor to measure particulate matter, which we often send to ‘bad air quality’ when cooking smokey foods like bacon. Before purchasing the fan, I would routinely measure poor to bad air quality when soldering, but can now not change the air quality at all if I’m carefully soldering in front of the filter (for larger jobs, the sensor will change from best to next best reading, but return to best reading within 10 minutes). Another complaint which I read, but haven’t experienced is the observation that the unit blows the back carbon filter out. I’ve been using the filter now for several months and haven’t experienced this. I would recommend this filter to anyone who is soldering small pieces (e.g. PCB, small gauge wire splicing, etc.) and has a limited workspace area, which was my primary reason for purchasing it over larger footprint models.

Excellent, Affordable Fume Extractor
Absolutely one of if not the best affordable fume extractors available. It has enough suction to draw fumes from up to around 8 inches away even with both filters on, and while a little noisy, it's not bad at all. The build quality is good, and it works very well for my benchtop use, fitting on my desk easily. I recommend Yihua's products overall!

pretty good all things considered
worked great to get the fumes out of my face. the fan is a bit loud but that’s just life. it seems well made and i would get another one. i would love for it to be a bit quieter and have a better filter system, as the current filters are just kinda put into the main body.

Needs more suction
The build quality seems decent however the suction power is not sufficient enough without having it more than an inch away from the inlet . One solution I had was just not putting the secondary filter on the backside . The noise it moderate and it fits perfectly on my desk . 40$ is a bit much for what you get .

It Juuuust Sucks.
The media could not be loaded. Honestly, I don't know why i didn't have one before. It is a little large for my crowded work bench and the fan is on the loud side but it comes with replacement filters and keeps solder fumes out of my face, especially when removing parts with lots of Flux.

Great for lab use
Every soldering station needs one of these. The noise level is as expected with a small fan, not deafening but could affect conversations. Built solidly, easy to use, and packaged well, we use these daily with zero issues and the assemblers appreciate them pulling the smoke away.
