This product was a breath of fresh air - Also, myQ sucks
I have left very few product reviews, but this product definitely deserves one.I had a myQ device (actually, two devices, because that’s just how special that manufacturer is) to enable my older garage door openers to be smart home integrated. It required two separate boxes for the garage doors to also be controlled via Apple HomeKit. The experience was very frustrating. In the day to day, the doors worked about 80% of the time via HomeKit, but heaven forbid if you should ever have to reconfigure the boxes again. I’m an IT professional, and I would have to call tech support EVERY TIME, to run through the convoluted and illogical process of getting things to work again. With this device though, setup was FAR easier and now the garage doors open and close EVERY SINGLE TIME I ask them to in Apple HomeKit. What a breath of fresh air, to have such a simple device simply do what’s supposed to do, without fail. I wish all of my smart home devices were this dependable…

Does not integrate with Smartthings or Google Home
Contrary to claims made by the manufacturer, I have not been able to successfully integrate a recently purchased MSG200 with my Google Home or Smartthings solutions. In Smartthings the devices, once added, state only "Checking..." and never get status updates or control API access. In Google Home, when issuing a command to the devices once Meross is linked results in, "I'm sorry. It looks like something went wrong. Try again later." I have over 98 devices across 5 manufacturers integrated into my SmartThings and/or Google Home and have no encountered any such issues from those (Arlo, Wemo, GE Embrighten, Philips Hue, and assorted Aeotec devices). This product was recommended as the superior solution compared to Nexx SmartHome - but at least Nexx worked with Smartthings, but not Google. The Meross Garage Door system hasn't worked with either. The native application also has issues operating and reading status of the doors and often says the "operation failed", when it did not.Once you operate the doors either through the app or manually, the app does not present the correct status of the doors (open or closed) unless you FORCE CLOSE the app then relaunch it. Application functional and third party functionality have serious issues. I've opened up a support ticket with Meross but their responses are superficial and have significant delays. Their website lists no phone numbers to speak with technical support, nor does their website have any 'support chat' as other sites do. You just have to ...wait for them to email you back.

Great product, but iHome setup a bit wonky.
Once you get this set up, it is awesome. Notifies you on your smartphone of door opening and closing, and alarms in the garage when the door is closing. Apple iHome setup is a bit wonky. Took me 3 or 4 times for it to address my router. Some things to note- comes with the hardware for 2 doors, which wasn't real clear in the description. I purchased the extra wiring kit, which i didn't need. Amazon gladly took it back. Also, the Meross app will work when you are away from your network, but the iHome requires an extra hub or an ipad to be left on at the house at all times. Not a deal killer for me, I actually prefer the Meross app to be honest. One suggestion for the programmers, have the alarm go off a second or two before the door closes, rather than the moment it is coming down. Would give someone a heads up if they are in the garage.

Better than expected
I bought a new Genie garage door opener a month or so ago, it has built in WiFi control, I could not get it to stay connected, even after extending my wireless. I decided to try this, it controls both the new Genie, and my 20 year old Sears opener. It works very well, I am very pleased. I was able to return the WiFi extender I had purchased for my garage, so the price difference was a wash. Plus I am able to control both doors, not just the new Genie. Two very minor issues.First I wish the cable for the second opener would have been a little longer. Rather than go through the attic, or even be able to go in straight lines, I had to go diagonal to the second door. The wires for the first door were a bit long. That being said my garage is a bit unusual the doors are not side by side. So for most applications they would be probably be long enough. I suppose I could have spliced in some more wire, where it was too short, and cut some out for the ones that were too long, but didn't want to introduce weak spots. Knowing me I'll probably do something about that when it warms up.Second issue, I decided the second issue is really not worth mentioning, so I won't. :)Anyway I would definitely buy it again.

Works well and as advertised. Could be easier to install
First, this does exactly what it says. It works very well. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Homekit integration. I can now open and close my garage doors while driving, etc.I do think installation could be easier. You have to wire something to the garage doors. I wish that this used a wireless mechanism like the myQ door opener. We also have the myQ door opener for Amazon Key.But we are an Apple/HomeKit household for other things, so we needed this too. It is nice that you can install both at the same time.
