Good read
This book is very good! I find it touching that one of the main characters has a past he is trying to hide from. Instead of hiding his past he has to heal from it. Story line is good. Really enjoy all the Christian parts throughout the book. Overall a really good read!

A New Favorite
After completing his sentence for the unintentional crime that derailed his youthful plans for fame and fortune, Levi Grant looks to start over in the town of Spencer, Texas. Spencer needs a blacksmith, a trade he learned at his father's knee, and he needs a place where no one knows his past.Eden Spencer has sworn off men, choosing instead to devote her time to the lending library she runs in the town her father founded. When a mountain-sized stranger walks through her door and asks to borrow a book, she's reluctant to trust him. Yet as the mysteries of the town's new blacksmith unfold, Eden discovers hidden depths in him that tempt her heart.Eden believes she's finally found a man of honor and integrity. But when the truth about Levi's prodigal past comes to light, can this tarnished hero find a way to win back the librarian's affections?I have to say that after reading this book it has quickly become a favorite of mine. I quickly fell in love with Levi within just the first few chapters. The author did a good job of drawing you into feeling his failures and his longing to make his life over into something good. He was humongous in size, and has suffered so much for the mistakes that he has made. He wants to be the man he was meant to be and after turning his life over to God he hopes he gets that chance to prove himself. He has a speech impediment that often causes people to wonder if he is just a big man who just might not be that smart. He keeps his words slow, careful and few. Even Eden wonders at first about his intelligence. The sheriff of the town was a swaggering bully, written just perfect to make you hate him. He's also trouble just waiting to happen. He has his eye on Eden and seems to think he has the right to push her around like he owns her. She has refused his marriage proposal time and again, but he just refuses to hear it. He continues to act jealous and possessive and that puts Levi right in his sights as a rival; a dangerous place for Levi to be. Levi has a past that had violence in it and Eden has an aversion to violence which it makes another difference between them. They were already two unlikely people to get together. A refined well to do petite librarian and a massive, unrefined, works with his hands blacksmith. Loved the two of them anyway and was rooting for a HEA for them.God and their faith played an important part of the story and I give the story the highest rating I can.

Love Covereth All Sins
To Win Her Heart by Karen Witmeyer has a very dramatic and memorable ending. It is set in Spencer, Texas in 1889.Levi Grant has a past that he is ashamed of. He is tall and is very muscular. He comes to Spencer to apply for a blacksmith job, the town has been without one for a long time. He learned his trade from his father but was enticed by prizefighting. Leaving his home to be a fighter, he intentionally commits a crime, and spends two years repaying his debt to society. He vowed to never fight again.Eden Spencer comes from a family of means and good reputation. She was jilted and decides to move to Spencer to open a lending library and give up on men. One day, Levi comes to the library to borrow a book. Eden looks at this very large stranger and wonders if she should trust him with a book. They both have secrets from the past and seem very different in educational background, social status and will have to deal with secrets and sheriff that you will to hate. Love, forgiveness, understanding and redemption and special mutt named Ornery will make you to always remember this story.

Highly Recommend
I typically shy away from Christian historical romance, simply because it proves to be a difficult balance for most authors. Faith aspects are either heavyhanded to the point of preaching or they're diluted into a generic, world-influenced spirituality. Tropes are often formulaically aligned in an attempt to repeat the success of other titles. Not so with To Win Her Heart. After finishing the book, I read that Ms. Witemeyer has a master's degree in psychology. I believe that experience was on full display in this offering, giving us such beautifully flawed, dimensional characters. The setting felt just as real. I found myself completely immersed in the town of Spencer—the area, the residents, everything. I know it sounds cliche, but I couldn't put this book down. I even read it during my breaks at work!Of course, the romance took center stage. An unlikely friendship blossomed into a love worthy of readers' cheering devotion. You could tell God was at the center of their relationship, as they prayerfully navigated even the most painful of setbacks. It all felt incredibly genuine.A few less enthused takeaways?1. Levi Grant has ruined me for all future men—both fictional and real. LOL The bar is *high* now.2. The epilogue was very sweet but I felt the book ended prematurely. I won't spoil anything, but despite having experienced Eden and Levi's relationship alongside them, readers don't get to "attend" their special event. It all wraps up the day before.3. I read this title via Kindle Unlimited and now I feel compelled to purchase it. So much for saving money with a subscription service. I enjoyed this story too much to not have it in my collection!

Wonderful, heart warming romance
This is a Christian romance, but don't let that put you off, if it would normally. I personally appreciate the books moral messages which focus on redemption, forgiveness and avoiding being judgemental and these are smoothly blended in to what is a truly romantic tale.In summary, Levi is a reformed prize fighter, a man eager to leave his violent past behind. Having killed a man accidentally he has sworn only to use violence in the defence of the weak, never to protect himself. In pursuit of a new life he settles down in the town of Spencer to be its blacksmith. The big man is as anxious to hide his speech impediment, as he is his criminal past, but a man as remarkable as Levi cannot be easily over looked and he soon comes to the attention of both the wealthy Miss Eden Spencer and the town's obnoxious sheriff. His developing romance with Eden becomes an unexpected source of joy to both of them, much to the annoyance of the jealous sheriff. And what a well written courtship it is. The writer keeps things clean, but by no means lacking in poignancy and passion. The plot is well crafted, even the least of the supporting characters are nicely fleshed out and there is also a pleasing secondary romance and plenty of drama which flows naturally through the narrative. It is, in short, a tale well told.

Wow!!!
For some reason, when choosing a book to read, I passed over this several times. In the end I decided to give it a go. I’m so glad I did. It was so beautifully written. And powerful that the man in question he genuinely done bad things and was reformed and given his second chance. Reminds me that nothing is too big for God to bring us through. Loved this book.
