Almost Flawless
As someone who’s fairly new to machine embroidery, the Brother PE800 made the learning curve feel so much smoother. The setup was genuinely plug and play. I had it threaded and stitching my first design in less than 30 minutes out of the box! ✅ Pros: Super beginner-friendly interface: The touchscreen is intuitive and easy to navigate, great for people who aren't super techy. Built-in designs + USB port: The built-in library is generous, and importing your own designs is super simple with the USB function. Great stitch quality: Clean, consistent stitches even on intricate patterns. Solid construction: It feels sturdy and reliable, not flimsy like some lower-end models. ❌ Cons (and mild quirks): It only embroiders (not a sewing/embroidery combo), so be sure you don’t need general sewing features. The hoop size is capped at 5” x 7”—great for most projects, but it might feel limiting if you plan to go big. You might be better off investing in a machine with a bigger hoop if you're serious about embroidery. The included designs are truthfully a bit dated in style, so you’ll likely want to bring in your own via USB.

Great little machine. I do not regret buying it. Thinking about buying another one with the 5x12 hoop. Sews free standing lace beautifully.

Amazing machine
I hesitantly bought this machine after reading some of the negative reviews. I am not new to embroidery and wanted to upgrade my machine. I didn't have a ton to spend, but wanted something that met my needs. I do embroidery and sewing as a hobby and a side job. I don't work or am not affiliated with Brother. That said, I have already completed 9 items on this machine. I am so grateful I bought it. 1. I always stick to brother. I currently have 5 brother machines in my place. Some I've had for 10 years or more. I have both manual and computerized and all of them still work perfectly. Brother makes solid merchandise. 2. The complaints about tension, upgrades, etc. didn't apply to me. I didn't mess with the tension and the machine worked immediately out of the box. Read the instructions, seriously. 3. The threading and bobbin situation is almost identical to my other brothers. They're not difficult at all, maybe confusing for a beginner at first, but once you get it you get it. 4. I was hearing a ton of negativity about artspira. I tried it. I love it. Yeah, there's a bit of a learning curve, but it's totally possible to learn by trying. I can print pictures of my kids on tees. That's cool. Also, my grandson can draw me a picture and I can embroider it and keep it forever. It's seriously cool. It's auto digitizing but you do have some control. Plus, it's fun. I don't get why so many are saying such negative things about it, it's neat. I get why they didn't put it on a computer, likely because people could be saving all the files to a USB and making money off that. It's 12.99/month digitizing, enjoy what you get. If you want free, use inkstitch. To me, inkstitch has been a nightmare and this is much easier. A project I got okay on inkstitch after a ton of work, I just uploaded to artspira and it did it with zero effort. It was awesome. I could have kicked myself for not getting this sooner. 5. The embroidery machine is a bit loud. To me, I don't believe that to be a problem, granted I've only owned Brother machines. This machine is quieter than my other one, and that one has over 10,000,000 stitches on it and works perfectly. I just wanted the new machine to cut jump stitches and to be computerized. It works perfectly. This machine is incredible. Honestly, if you've done embroidery before, you'll love it. If you haven't, yes, there's a learning curve, but stick with it, read directions, and enjoy. It's so worth it.

Easy to get started. Don’t be intimidated if you are new to embroidery.
I have never embroidered before and was leaning towards a used machine to get my feet wet. When I saw this package deal I pulled the trigger. It had everything I needed to get started and is versatile enough to meet my needs for the future. With 4 hoops I am good to go. In just a few hours, I created my own design, transferred and completed my first embroidery. All that is left is the sewing. Pic of Star face design attached.

Worthless
Just ordered the Brother PE900. It arrived yesterday but already returned it today for a full refund. It arrived quickly with no damage. It was packaged well from the factory. I already own 4 Brother sewing machines, as well as a PE 535 and a Brother 550 D embroidery machine. All my previous. Brother purchases have been quality machines that give me excellent service. My oldest machine is nearly 15 years old and still runs as good as the day I purchased it. However quality control is slipping. My brand new Brother PE900 was defective and completely inoperable. First the needle threader did not work. So I hand thread the needle. Placed my project(a simple kitchen towel) in the hoop and started my design. Within 3 or 4 stitches the machine jammed and pulled the fabric into the throat plate, tearing a quarter inch hole in my fabric. Then the carriage made a violent fish tail motion. Then the motor made a very loud clunking sound and it was all over. I JUST PURCHASED A $1200 LEMON!!! I was so very dissapoibted in Brother. A machine with even one defect should never leave the factory let alone a machine with multiple issues!!! I am very angry and frustrated to be put thru this anguish and needless inconvenience of a return, a refund and finally a second inconvenience of ordering and then waiting once again for a second machine!!!But inspite of all that, I still say Amazon and Brother are good companies. It was my bad luck to receive a defective product. I love the Brother PE900. I have waited years and years to afford to step up and own such a fine machine. SO once again I will patiently wait fir the eventual arrival of a new machine with no defects.
