Human v human/machine ... what could possibly go wrong?
I know this game has been out for many years but I’ve only just got around to getting a copy of it … and, to be honest, I’m glad I did. For me, it’s a little akin to “HomeFront, the revolution”, with a similar game play. The beginning gives you the story of what happened over the years to get you to where the game plays. Basically, set in the future where the some humans have been surgically enhanced with parts of their bodies creating stronger, faster people, these people are called augmented. Only some crazy man causes destruction using the augmented which cracks the trust of humans towards augmented. You play as Adam Jensen, an augmented special agent who is given a task of investigating crimes of terrorism, be that by human or augmented. Taking you through several missions in order to stop a major terrorist attack which will widen the divide between humans and augmented even further. To the point of the annihilation of the augmented. But can you, as Adam, find and stop the ring leader before the attack happens? That’s the story, sort of, and once you start playing you’ll soon get the hang of what you have to do, what you have to find and how you should travel around in order to crack the case. The story is pretty good, much better than some games I’ve played, and the gameplay itself is nice and smooth. Although scrolling through your items, such as weapons, ammo and other things you carry, can be a little distracting at time. But pick the right weapons, load them with the right ammo -emp bullets, armour piercing or standard bullets, and more – and you’re away. The mission, and there’s several of them, are a mix of stealth and all out shooting everything in sight … for me, I found it best to use stealth on as many mission as you can as the ammunition can be a little scarce at times, especially at the beginning. More ammo can be found along the route, taking from those you’ve killed or knocked out, (if you knock them out they can be revived by their friends) Throughout the game you have to collect things in order to proceed, codes, passwords, credits and more, all helping you get through the game. (Codes/passwords can be found online if you want to play it that way) But if you want to go it solo and can’t find the codes you can always try and hack the computers. The protagonist, (You/Adam)has some serious power and is helped along the way by others and given side mission along side the main mission, all found using the ‘map’ In all, a fine game with a good dystopian story line regarding the trust between man and machine (sort of). There’s plenty of mission, good graphic/gameplay bringing several hours of fun. With difficulty levels you can make it easy or hard … the choice is yours. Well worth the £6.83 (at time of writing) without a doubt.

Better than expected!!
Ever since this was shown at E3 i was so excited to play this game! Was given this by my girlfriend and after 13 hours of playing i can honestly say this surpasses the previous game in many ways. First of all the graphics. The game looks insane and on 1080p you can see crisp backgrounds and character models look tidy too; most notably on adam jensen. Lip sync can play up a bit however but never pulled me out of the experience. Gameplay has improved and feels more fluid and less clunky, you still have the option to go Stealth or go guns blazing or you can even go Stealth and then go guns blazing or vice verser. Gunplay is smooth and you have the ability to upgrade it's ammo type, barell e.g silencer or muzzle and add different sites. Augmentation are still the highlight of the gameplay there are over 20 different types of augmentations which once you begin with can go on to a whole tree of that augment. My personal favourite play style is stored always begin stealthy and if things prove too difficult then to bring out the shotgun. The story however will admit ends abruptly but still felt the story as a whole was really good as it brings up current real world issues such as terrorism and cyber terrorism such as the illuminati. The cyberpunk style is still a personal favourite as it's nice to play a game which doesn't focus on fetch quests or grinding to get to higher level or lies to you about the whole game rhyming with no mans lie. I honestly enjoyed this game alot and if you loved the previous game you'll love this just as much or even more! Going invisible and nano punching 3 enemies at once never gets old.

The potential is there, but yet still can't help but let you down.
I was very much looking forward to this game. I even pre-ordered it, which in hindsight was a big mistake. The game does have a lot to like. It has excellent world and level design, one that begs to be explored in full. The amount of variety you have for completing each level is excellent. The game's central premise is very thought-provoking, centering around a societal divide between humans and augmented humans, with "augs" being victimised and segregated from the "natural" humans. The game also contains some very interesting and engaging subplots and side missions, and, while my play style prevented me from trying them all, the new experimental augmentations you receive are fun to play around with. Where the game fails primarily is it's story. Compared to it's predecessor, Human Revolution, the story lacks in intrigue and fails to maintain genuine interest throughout. This is probably due to it having a weaker narrative than it's predecessor. There are also few developed characters, with some of the more interesting ones only appearing a handful of times. For me though, the games main weakness is it's ending. It's very clear that Square Enix want more of these games, but it still is no excuse for just ending the game just as things start to finally pick up steam. It feels as if the developers couldn't come up with an interesting third act, so they just didn't put one in, they just leave it with the characters hinting at what they need to do next. Not to mention many of the games more intriguing questions are left unanswered. If you are a fan of the Deus Ex series, then it it worth a playthrough, but honestly, I can't see myself sitting through this again.

The game improves everything Human Revolution did. The open world is big enough to have things to do almost everywhere, compared to other games where the maps are huge but not much to do. There are more than just one way to make your way through the missions, wether it's gun blazing or in a stealthy way. One thing that is very clear, is that this was a very clear middle part on an intended sequel, and while i found it extremely enjoyable as it's own, many people will find the conclusion lacking, and i can see why, especially now since the future of the franchise is in the air. Very fun and fascinating game overall.

Ho acquistato la versione inglese del gioco e mi è arrivata quella italiana. Errore o scelta deliberata?
