TimexExpedition Scout Men's 40 mm Watch

Perfect everyday watch.
I have a small watch collection, including an Apple and a few more expensive ones. So I was looking for an inexpensive watch that I didn’t have to worry about when I’m doing gardening and other projects. At the same time, I wanted one that didn’t feel plasticky and unsatisfying to wear.I’m glad to recommend that the Timex Expedition fits the bill perfectly. Nicely weighted brass case (which feels substantial and much more expensive than it is), and a very crisp dial, I’m happy to wear it on any occasion. My wrist is about 19-20cm and the leather strap supplied fits me perfectly. With numerous colours to choose from, you can’t go wrong for a no nonsense but handsome daily watch.

Excellent quality
This watch is great - it's a man's watch which looks rugged and is easy to read night or day. It's not small and it isn't one of them light cheap watches you can get for less.On close inspection the build quality is excellent, the materials are very good quality. The strap feels great, not like the horrible recycled plastic material ones found on some cheaper watch that look like this but are not like this. You pay for the name and they do what they do well.Overall 5 stars - very pleased with this watch.

Really good watch , but if you're sensitive to loud ticking stay away
This watch is really good , it ticks nicely , keeps time well , and has a really solid casing. It feels like it's been put together well and doesn't rattle at all. Even the mineral glass on it is alot more scratch resistant than my Swatch irony and my vostok komanderskie ( given that one uses acrylic ). The straps that come with it are comfy , but i prefer to use leather straps on it as it's a classy looking watch and I already own a diver for a sporty look. All this is good ;however, this watch has one thing that maybe a no no to some people . It basically ticks really loud and it can be audible in a quiet room . I live in a dorm and if the watch isn't in a box I can hear it tick , which can get annoying if you're trying to sleep .If you really want the watch for the time keeping and durability , then get it and get yourself a watch box or something that can dampen it's noise at night so you can sleep in peace. For its price , few watches compete with such quality or have a long heritage like Timex does. As a result , if you appreciate watches and want it for yourself or a gift , this is the perfect watch as a daily beater or a friendly gift gesture.UPDATE :I recently bought it NATO straps , and the ticking sound somehow dissapered . It might be the fsbric padding stopping the watch from making loud ticks. So , it's an easy fix it seems.

Great watch, Timex never lets me down
Timeless Timex. Pretty much since being taught to tell the time I've worn a Timex except for a few years in the 80's wearing a Casio databank, who didn't in those days.Clear easy to read watch even with my failing eyes and no readers the hands are very easily legible.Would I buy one again? Of course, value for money, durability and even able to see the time with its built in light without looking at your phone when you're bursting for your 3am pee. Old age comes to us all if we're lucky enough.

Oddly satisfying....for a short time
I've long been a fan of field watches and just collecting watches in general. What i like is their simple, clear and functional face that's easy to get the time in a quick glance.Generally speaking a field watch should be accurate, robust and water resistant enough that in can take whatever is thrown at it in the great outdoorsThis little gem from Timex is 'almost' perfect, just upping the 50 metres water resistant to 100 metres would have been very welcome, though not absolutely essential, just a shame.Although its quite light at 63 grams, it still feels fairly robust and the finish looks like it'll take a fair bit of abuse.Size is very small, up to most of my watches, though it has to be said that i think that 40mm sized watches seem to be that 'perfect' size, regardless of wrist size. I can't really describe why, but it just feels 'right', so comfortable and unobtrusive. The strap feels surprisingly good quality, which was definitely more than i expected at this price, the leather feels thick and durable. There are better spec'd options for less, I bought a similar lorus that has a stainless steel case (as opposed to this one being brass) and with 100 metres water resistance, yet somehow this Timex just feels so 'RIGHT' on the wrist and it looks more suited to the outdoors.I've had many Timex watches over the years and NONE have disappointed, this is without doubt one of my favourites from them.Accuracy is excellent (as expected), as it's a quartz movement, it'll ALWAYS be accurate and reliable, unlike an automatic watch, which aren't much use for everyday wear, why pay more for less functionalty, durability and accuracy? This is undoubtedly one of Timex best watches in its price range, the backlight is excellent and this is a truly fantastic 'taster' of a field watch in design and functionality.Update after a few months:Its taken me a long time to get round to writing this, but after around 5 months the battery died, so i bought a new battery thinking it would be a very easy job to do (like most watches) WRONG, the cover came off easy enough, BUT replacing it after the battery change was IMPOSSIBLE, it was so unbelievably tight fitting that the force needed to put it back on ended up smashing the mineral glass!!Timex clearly aren't what they used to be and this is undoubtedly the LAST timex I'll EVER BUY.There are VASTLY better quality watches from China that make this look like something that fell out of a Christmas cracker and for LESS money.NEVER AGAIN.

Set and Forget Timepiece
The size of watch is perfect. It fits/sits quite nicely on wrist. It feels like an expensive watch. And it’s rugged so you can wear it to walks, hiking and during rough works. The dial looks amazing and the weight of watch is also quite adequate. It keeps time well (set and forget). Functionality wise, it’s a very good value of money!

Easy to read and very comfortable to wear
Looks nice and fits well. Easy to read, even in the dark and so far no problems at all. The leather wristband is very comfortable and doesn't sweat.
