Love my Kobo so I got one for my husband’s birthday.
Every bit as good as mine, light and compact. The clarity and the light are of excellent quality and it’s ideal for travelers.

Well the Kobo Glo and the Kobo Aura first edition are both much better than this
Bought this as a gift. Well the Kobo Glo and the Kobo Aura first edition are both much better than this, but it is still absolutely wonderful and better than a kindle. Why is it better than a kindle?1. Well, in my experience so far, Kobos last longer. My poor kobo glo has been dropped a few times and still works perfectly, 4 years on. My father's kindle was taken really really good care of, and broke after 2 years. He is very happy with the kobo Aura I gave him to replace it.2. You can load pretty much any format of book onto it, usually by clicking and dragging, but failing that use the free program Calibre. Kindles are far more limited.3. You can have multiple press-for-definition dictionaries, so if you are bilingual or learning a language this is the only choice for you.Other than that they are the same product, so if those things don't bother you, flip a coin.

Warm light function
The choice of setting a warmer light that stops the device keeping you awake makes this the best eReader for me.

I have to warn against buying a kobo reader. ...
I have to warn against buying a kobo reader. If you experience any issues, you are out of luck: Their customer service will not be able to help you and have all kinds of excuses.I am now the owner of a Kobo that cannot charge - and Kobo won't help repair or replace.A scary part was the dialogue with Kobo customer service, when they asked where I lived. "Copenhagen, Denmark" I said. She replied "Where in UK is Copenhagen". I repeated "Copenhagen is the capital of in Denmark". She then asked "Is Denmark a city in UK or a region?". "Denmark is a country - your neighbor to the right if you look at a map", I replied patiently. And the geographically skills of the customer service was actually on level with their product knowledge...
