Cheap but effective
A little flexible and the handle is painful in hand for extended use, but overall it get the job done well enough.

Not really cutting it for the bottom of doors...
I would spend a bit more for a proper planer if you need it for the bottom of a door for example. It didn't really work for me for that purpose, have had to buy a normal planer. These are good for edges though.

Good little device especially for the money
Pros:- Light; Good for shaving off small amounts of woodCons:- Pretty hard work - you have to press quite hard and keep it clean. Good for edges - for instance if you are trimming a door to stop it sticking I found it best to angle trim the edge first and then move across the surface reducing the angle as you go. It would be - and is - hard work to traverse the whole door edge unless the wood is soft. It doesn’t work so well if you are trying just to take some measure of wood off a flat surface.Nevertheless it did what I needed and I got two previously jammed doors to close properly so it was definitely worth buying in my case.

Easy to use with arthritic hands
My Craft Cave door has been sticking for years, and I couldn't afford a tradesman to sort it. I also cannot take it off its hinges and replace it by myself (70 year old woman with arthritic hands and knees), so that I could use a plane on it.So when I saw this wee piece of kit (together with the small curved one as a bundle), I thought I would try it.I am so pleased I did! It smoothly removed enough at all the sticking points up and down the door within minutes. Even my arthritic hands were able to comfortably hold it and put enough pressure to get the job done. The small Stanley 367023-STX Surform Shaver Tool 5 21 115 was ideal for the very bottom of the door, going sideways, as the block plane was a bit awkward to use down there.I turned the blade of the block plane round so that I was pulling instead of pushing, which I found easier and gave me more control. Now I can get in and out of my Craft Cave without having to kick the door!!!!Next job is to tackle the garden gate - I have no doubt that too will open with ease after a few minutes.
