I bought this set for my father, as I have had a good experience with the cream included.I've used the cream included in this set for around six months and it is far superior than any gunk from a can. As shaving creams go, it's also probably my favourite as it gives excellent protection and lubrication, while softening the bristles.The brush also appears to be the same as a brush I bought from another company, just branded with the Taylor's name. It is a pure badger brush, which is higher quality than synthetic or bristle; there are several grades of badger brush higher, however.The combo is excellent, giving a full rich lather that costs the bristles on all sides. This is something not possible to achieve by lathering by hand or with a canned gel or cream.The smell of the cream is one that is traditional and masculine, yet dries to a subtle and pleasant aroma. Whilst you can get softer brushes, this set will provide you,or someone you're gifting it to, an excellent shaving prep.My father likes the set, preferring using it to his previous shaving routine. Be sure to buy a shaving stand for your brush to keep it mildew free!

The products of Taylor of Old Bond Street are generally very good. For everyone having been in a store of Taylor of Old Bond Street will know that the products have a good quality but you also pay for that, as a single shaving brush can cost up to £40 on it's own. So I was really happy when I saw this nice package.The shaving cream will definitely last you forever, as you only need very small amounts with each shave. The cream lathers up quite well, it is very soft and doesn't loose volume when applied andt it does go on smooth and evenly. My partner shaves with a single blade razor and if the cream is applied well the shave is absolutely smooth and easy. It prepares the skin well enough to not leave irritations or redness. But it does leave your skin quite dry, which is expected but you would need to moisturise after the shave. The scent is absolutely divine and not overpowering. It lingers a little after application but it's not too strong.The shaving brush is a very good quality. The hair does not fall out as it does with cheaper shaving brushes. It's very sturdy, the hair is rough but still soft enough to get into all the areas needed.I definitely recommend this as it made the perfect present for my other half.

I don't shave every day, so the growth is usually 3-4 days. I would normally use shaving foam (no brush) and a 5 blade disposable razor. This hasn't worked out very well, but as I say I don't shave every day.The first use with the "Taylor of Old Bond Street Pure Badger Brush and Sandalwood Bowl Gift Box Set", a gift to myself. The Sandalwood soap was amazing and the application with the Pure Badger hair Brush very easy to apply. Over all the best and cleanest shave I have had in a very long time.I will certainly be back for more of the Sandalwood soap.

I bought this set first time over a month ago for my partner as I liked the vintage look and it reminded me of my father shaving when I was a child. It smells absolutely amazing. It takes you back in time and makes me think of gentlemen wearing hats and gloves and holding the ladies umbrella. :) My partner also loves the smell, finds it easy to use, saying it feels like a very close shave, the brush is also nice and sturdy, bristles don't come off. I have also bought the stand for the brush which you can actually stick on the tiles in the bathroom, and the brush dries after use in the right position, and also bought him the after shave gel, which hydrates and moisturises, leaving the skin gorgeous. No need to say that I started buying the set every time it's somebody's birthday. I bought just now the 3rd one. Would definitely recommend it.

I bought this on the Black Friday sale, it seems to go on discount for most of the big amazon sales for ~£20.It was to replace an Taylor of old Bond Street brush that I had had for about 3 years and I was surprised by how much I needed a new brush, although the brush had held up well the new brush is really good at lathering the soap and much more pliable then the old one I was probably abit overdue a replacement.It comes with a sandalwood Shaving cream as well which is my favourite, this usually sells at ~£11 now making the brush one of the best brushes you can get for £10.Even at full price this is a great value set and both the brush and the shaving cream will last you a very long time especially if you end buying more ToOBS shaving cream and alternating them like me. I defiantly recommend trying the rest of the ToOBS range it’s great shaving cream and great value.

Nice gift set. Fantastic scent, very good lather. Highly recomended.Brush is small, but good. With this soap makes good lather. Soft and nice.For traveling too big, specially for airplane.

The cream is ok but you need to make sure everyone close likes sandalwood. Obvious really!In retrospect I'd probably go straight for shaving soap (notably lanolin), as cream is expensive for what you get.However, I've found the shaving brush here a very faithful companion for more than a year already. No issues with bristle loss etc as reported by others.Not sure if that's because I've looked after my brush better, but it's certainly not a great effort to wash out then twist gently and squeeze as advised. Definitely get yourself a proper brush and razor stand though.

The brush is nice and the cream smells nice. For a gift this will look nice. For everyday use I think its over expensive. I have used the shaving cream and does smell nice but I have used a very low cost cream from a tube available in most chemists and I cannot really tell the difference to justify the extra cost. besides if you apply a moisturiser and aftershave the smell of the cream is void. However as a gift set with a nice badger brush and presented in a really nice box which I was reluctant to throw in the bin it would be a nice present to receive or give.
