Massive improvement on the standard fan!!
I bought this in-line fan to replace a Vent axia axial fan fitted in the ceiling of my bathroom, it was always noisy and I could hear fan vibrating through the ceiling everywhere else in the house!! To add insult to injury it didn’t do the job, it took almost no steam out of the bathroom meaning I had to open the window and make the room cold, which just added to the problem! I decided to fit this after condensation had started to cause mould above the shower, my god what a difference! There is almost no steam or moisture during or after the shower and any spray or perfumes used are gone in minutes, the air is noticeably clear and dry and so is the rest of the bathroom. I mounted my fan to the roof joists to eliminate contact with the ceiling and it genuinely is completely silent from outside the room, all you can hear in the room is the sound of the air being pulled through the vent.Fitting this was a doddle, there is a live and neutral connection, no earth, and comes with a cable clamp and grommet to finish the job, it recommends using a round flex to the unit and then a junction box to the mains which makes for an easy and neat installation, I would strongly recommend this because I think it would be tricky to fit twin and earth into the unit!. There is a jumper inside the circuit box to select low, medium or high speed, factory setting is high and I left it at that but it’s really easy to change if you wanted to, but then why would you??Brilliant fan that does the job, I’m considering changing my others now to match!!EDIT: I have bought another one of these units to vent from my bathroom into a roof tile vent, and although this has slowed the flow of air slightly, it has made no difference to performance in the bathroom or noise level, it still sucks the door open when in use! I have also fitted back draft shutters to both fans after noticing a bit of a draft which has now solved the problem. All in all very impressed and I would highly recommend

Not too noisy and good flow
I live in a super-efficient flat in Wiltshire, which is great in winter, but in summer it can get over 30C. In the morning I use this fan to blow cooler outside air into the flat through ducting. It isn't too loud, and has a good flow rate. Only recently aquired, so not sure if it is reliable enough to justify the extra cost over other products.

fittings have changed
I have used Vent-Axia fan for years, we have small 14 room hotel and always been a case of undo the clips and wires clip in the new motor job done, but no they have changed the shape and size turning a five to ten minute job into a one hour job, the fan will proberly give us years of service because they are very good fans but why do compony feel the need change things just for the hell of it

Failed a week after warranty
This failed just one week after the one year warranty. It was used very lightly in the inline ventilation to the basement. It was supposed to work with switching on the light in the basement. Poor quality from very well known company.

This is a great in line fan
This is a great in line fan. Used this to fit in loft to replace above shower Vent axis unit. The suction power is so much better that the last above shower unit - you can actually feel the air movement has increased. Has significantly reduced moisture in en suite - would highly recommend and I shall be buying more as other units come to the end of their lives in bathrooms throughout house.

Vent axia the best fans by far

Disappointing static pressure
This fan is definitely much quieter than a Manrose of the same wattage and duct diameter (24W and 25W, and both fans look very similar). However, the static pressure of the VentAxia is disappointing. The flow drops at least two-fold when a 4-feet flexible duct is connected to the input. For twice the price of the analogous Manrose I naiively expected better performance.I will try and run a larger diameter duct via a reducer.
