Bought 40t A’s replacement for tandem, arrived in good time and well priced compared to other alternatives

I used it on my single speed and it bent slightly losing its perfect circular shape

Perfect for what we wanted. My wife and I both have Dahon folding bikes which came with a 53t chainwheel. These bikes are great fun, but the handling is very quick and flighty hence they are not bikes to ride at great speed. And the lowest gear was not low enough for hilly countryside. Replacing the OEM chain ring with a 42t Stronglight gave me two lower gears and we don't miss the forfeited top two. Still good for 15mph+. Ring was a straight swap and 4 links were removed from chain.

Nice but single speed only (probably)
Good light chain ring, but as soon as I hooked it up to a rear derailleur drivetrain the chain pops off on the biggest two rings. So might be OK for 9-speed, but definitely not for 11-speed.
