Taylor & Colledge Bourbon Vanilla Extract, 100ml

There's no sugar in this stuff. The ingredients on Amazon need to be updated. I think not so long ago there was organic sugar, to "pump up the flavour" as I've seen someone put it, but Taylor & Colledge, the two of them (one tall and thin, the other short and stout), have since removed it personally themselves. This is probably owing to recent reviews which criticised the weak flavour. If they were adding sugar to "pump up the flavour" and the flavour of vanilla was weak and insipid as some here are saying then I'm guessing they chose to drop the sugar entirely to intensify what little vanilla there is. Funny. I'm happy, I'm in a good mood, and it's all thanks to this change I'm telling you about. I was using the other brand more recently, the Massey one (which has sugar, non-organic), just because, but I said to myself (and to anyone within earshot) that if I can find a vanilla extract with ethanol and without sugar added then I'll be a happy monkey. And a happy monkey I am - the heavens have answered my vanilla prayers! I'm reverting to T&C vanilla bean extract! It's official! Just don't add sugar again boys and we'll be getting along fine. I drink the stuff, so to get a hit of vanilla and ethanol without the sugar is much appreciato, especially as vanilla and alcohol are thought to (and in my estimation of experimentation do) lower the blood sugar. Works for me.

Taste very nice. Easy yo use in baking. Worth the money. High quality. A staple to have in every kitchen.

This smells DIVINE in the bottle. Very strong too! However I have to add an obscene amount of this vanilla extract into food and drinks to even taste it. Which is ridiculous! I used to buy the vanilla bean paste from this brand which was very rich, so you only need a little bit. But this product is disappointing. Just get the paste from Taylor & Colledge and you'll be more than satisfied!

Smells and tastes good (in cookies). I thought it was rather strange that there is no seal. It would be impossible to tell if it was tampered with after production.

Excellent value vanilla

Wanted a decent flavoured vanilla extract so tried this and it’s good. Price is competitive.

I use this for baking and could not find smaller bottles due to Coronavirus.

Not flavourful

Strong flavor. This flavor a vanilla actually makes it through cupcakes.

The product was as advertised arrived promtly and was very useful in my shortbread cookies I was excited to use real vanilla .thankyou

This product is exactly what I would expect from vanilla extract. I think negative reviews come from the fact that in supermarkets in Austria and Germany people are used to buying vanilla favouring that is completely artificial in both flavour and scent. Vanilla is actually subtle and not the same as this overpowering cheap artificial vanilla flavour. I can recommend if you are looking for a non-articial vanilla to use for baking.
